The data is in a data file, not the program. So, yes, you will still have your old data, but you will not be able to see it at the same time as the new data file. You can only have one data file open at a time. You will not be able to run reports that contain data from both data files.

There is nothing that would stop you from creating a new version of each of your accounts in your existing data file and start recording the transactions from 1/1/2024 in them. The new accounts would have a Opening Balance equal to the Ending Balance of the old account and could be created by making a transfer from the old account to the new account, thus zeroing out the old account and starting the new account with the proper balance.

Thanks. However I have another question if I do what you re suggesting, is all the old data still gonna be saved in the program? I want to get rid of all the data stored but i want to back it up in my external storage.
