I have updated to Quicken R55.26 and the problem just started for me after installing the 04/10/2024 Windows 11 updated (Version 23H2). One step update and update from the account menu does not import new transactions for my primary checking account. It updates for everything else. Clicking on the QFX file starts the windows installer. This appears to be a problem related to Quicken's interaction with the lasts Windows 11 update. By the way using the import QFX file to update works but it brings in duplicates of some months old transactions.

    Hello @Dr Dave,

To help troubleshoot this issue, please provide more information. Which financial institution are you having this issue with? Are you seeing any error messages/error codes when you try to update the account? Do you usually update via QFX, or did you switch to that when the financial institution stopped downloading using One Step Update?

I look forward to your response!

    Hello @Dr Dave,

I haven't heard back from you. Do you still require assistance?

    Thank you!

I have always used one step update except in rare occasions when I cannot get a connection to an institution using one step update. The problem occurs with all financial institutions. All downloaded QXF files start a Quicken uninstall process when they are opened. I am able to successfully import from a QFX file using the Quicken file import feature, but that always duplicates any previously downloaded transactions. Launching a QFX file calls the Windows uninstall feature for the Quicken app.

Looks to me as if the Windows Update has changed something in your Quicken software installation.

    • uninstall Quicken using this procedure:  https://www.quicken.com/support/how-do-i-uninstall-quicken-windows
    • Now open your Windows File Explorer and navigate to This PC > C: Drive > Program Files (x86) or
C:\Program Files (x86) and delete the folder titled "Quicken" (with all its files and subfolders)
    • When done, reboot your computer and then reinstall Quicken from your account at quicken.com or your installation CD or saved downloaded installation file and allow it to update to the latest available patch release level.
