Stop mobile app from memorizing transactions [Edited]

This has been a recommendation for well over a year. Is there any plan to make tis change? As users we should be able to receive feedback from Quicken. I have looked for a replacement product and cannot find one but the mobile app is quite annoying! I have to add transactions and then after the sync I have to add the memo to the transaction. 😣

REALLY glad to learn this, thank you. This issue has ended my app use entirely, so looking forward to an eventual solution.

Glad this is finally being taken up. Still very frustrating in the meantime. Curious what on earth made developers think that everyone wants all transactions memorized anyway?

I would also like a way to avoid automatically adding payees from mobile version. IMO, that is easily the most irritating feature of the app. I do a lot of transactions with a payee that's never used again, and am continuously having to go into the Windows app to clean up the payee list.

Glad to hear that a fix for this is now "planned" - but it really should be prioritized for a very-near-term fix. The current behavior forces so much confusion, frustration, and busy work to fix, it's had an outsized impact on anyone and everyone who uses the mobile app.
Quicken team: Please ensure this change makes it into a near-term update, so your users can be delivered from this long-term nightmare, in the immediate future (holiday buying transactions are NOT fun, when we have to remember to clean up every single one of these Payees manually, after the fact…)

Adding my vote for this fix - it's so tedious after a business trip to go through and clean up my usually well organized Memorized Payee list…

Is there any update from Quicken as to when this "planned" fix will be implemented. Very irritating still.

It is getting close to two years since this has been added to Planned. Any update on when this will be implemented?

"@Quicken Anja" , it's now been 2 years since this was changed to a "Planned" idea. Can you give us any update on this topic? I don't even see the arrows to allow us to "Vote" for this idea! So Quicken does not know how many MORE people would have voted for it (like me).
This seems like such a simple fix to at least:
- Add a "preference" in the mobile app to save or not save new/all payees, just like Quicken for my laptop does.
- Have the code check this status before saving the transaction as a new payee is executed.
I can only imagine someone thinks you need to totally rethink the preferences concerning saving new payees. PLEASE follow the KISS principle (Keep It Simple Stupid), and QUICKLY IMPLEMENT a change! Please give us a status update !!!

Hello All,
I understand the frustration with the delay. At this time, the request is still in Planned status, and we don’t have a confirmed release date to share. Your feedback and continued interest are important, and I’ll make sure the product team is aware this remains a high-priority request for you and others in the community.
Thank you!

It is astonishing to me that such a frustrating glitch is STILL not fixed. I'm starting to realize that Quicken does not actually care much about customer needs and has become overconfident that we won't leave the platform. I hope to see some genuine competition in this market space soon given how poorly Quicken has handled many issues of late, this app issue included. I have a trip coming soon and am already rolling my eyes at the manual clean-up I'll have to do in this software upon return.

@Quicken Jasmine @Quicken Anja (et al.) - This really needs to be fixed ASAP, as the current behavior is demonstrably a very-impactful bug.
I (and many others) use the mobile app to quickly enter transactions while out and about, and then can flesh out more details (applying a specific category, defining splits, adding a memo) when back at our desktop. It should be straightforward to update such entries, as they should be marked as "not reviewed", and have no such supplemental details added against them.
But due to this bug, this is no longer possible: ANY entry within the mobile app, is inexplicably becoming the new Quickfill rule on desktop. I am currently looking at 8 different transactions for purchases at "Target", all labeled as "dishwasher detergent" - which is obviously incorrect, and was never intended this way. It's just that the last time my wife entered such a transaction on mobile, it was with that specific category and memo, and Quicken decided to apply such details as the new Quickfill rule for ALL subsequent transactions … despite me REPEATEDLY editing those rules within Quicken, and even marking the "Lock this rule to prevent changes…" checkbox.
This bug has had a significant impact to our workflows, and an outsized impact on your users' frustration with your software. Please implement something along the lines of @markmark 's suggestions above:
This seems like such a simple fix to at least:
1. Add a "preference" in the mobile app to save or not save new/all payees, just like Quicken for my laptop does.
2. Have the code check this status before saving the transaction as a new payee is executed.
…which would at least prevent the tedious cleanup activities which are currently required.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please let us know when to expect such a fix.0 -
Any insights - from anyone? This really needs to stop - I'm spending a significant amount of time in the desktop app as of late, REMOVING invalid Notes (and sometimes Categories) from the transactions which are synced over from mobile.
Why would the functionality EVER be expected to be the way this is currently behaving (last transaction = default for ALL future entries)? How long has the "Lock this rule…" option on desktop been completely broken, yet no-one from the development team has noticed?
Can we get an ETA on a bug fix, so we know when we'll be able to avoid this frustrating bit of churn?

I truly hate this bug. It's not a feature at all. All we need is a way to prevent this period like many have echoed, I do not want to have the memorized payee on my mobile app. It makes a quick entry take longer because I have to go back and edit so much. Makes no sense.
I know they do not like us desktop users whether windows or mac. They want us in the cloud using their subscription service and not using this sync app. That's all it is to it. But we're here just fix this.
