Selectable TXF export year
Just got my TTax 2023 so I could get a head start on my taxes. When I went to export my TXF file for import I realized that Q was going to create the file for LAST year (ie, 2022), but I needed the report for THIS year (2023). It shouldn't be all that difficult to create the option for a current year report.

TTAX can read your Q data file directly … so why bother with the TXF export?

Which report are you exporting?
As far as I can see they all allow for selecting 2023 (the ones that can export a TXF file).

File > Export warns it will export last year's data.
Maybe setting the PC's clock to 2024 temporarily might work.

One reason might be that TurboTax 2023 is ready import from Quicken yet. At this point they have a lot of functionality turned off.
I'm still using TurboTax 2022 for my 2023 predictions because they have yet to make all of the forms, I use available in TurboTax 2023.

Tried that - it didn't work. Got an error telling me to use TXF. Like others have said, maybe that function isn't ready yet.

Ran the report from the File→File Export→Export TurboTax Tax Schedule Report.
Response is "Quicken will export data from the previous year." There is no way to select a year.

Q ability to export 2023 tax info is, likewise, not ready yet.
Looks like you're just going to have to wait.

I, too, cannot export Quicken's current year (2024) to the 2024 Turbo Tax app that I just received today. The message is "Quicken will export data from the previous year." Is there any way to escalate this within Quicken? I realize that the two companies are no longer related.

If you look at the thread, you will notice it is from 2023. This problem happens every year and I doubt it will ever change for the very reason that Quicken Inc seems to be waiting for Intuit to stabilize TurboTax before they allow/make whatever changes they need. And Intuit doesn't "stabilize" TurboTax until after the IRS finalizes their forms and such, which wait on all the federal government to finalize the tax laws…
In fact, Intuit purposely disables parts of TurboTax so that in some cases you can't even use it to predict what your tax will be until about January.
I ran into that last year. For a change I installed TurboTax in November thinking I could get a better estimate of my taxes than I got in TurboTax from the year before. No such luck, too much was disabled even if it wasn't likely to change at all.
If I remember correctly, it wasn't until something like at least January before this kind of export was updated in Quicken, maybe even February.

Thank you, Chris. Your info appears to be spot on. Much as I don't like Quicken's approach, it does make sense. They don't want to be exporting Quicken transactions to TurboTax only to find out that new tax categories had been introduced, which would leave "egg on their faces," since so many folks would be the first to castigate them even if it were a receiving error, e.g., on the TurboTax side and not an error on the sending side (Quicken). I believe the best solution would be for Quicken to provide a year dropdown box and insert a cautionary sentence about preliminary tax line assignments. I still would like to know how to escalate this issue to Quicken's executive team. [Removed - Personal Information]

While we are on the subject of integration between Quicken and TurboTax, note that Quicken was not able to import 2023 TurboTax data until the release of R59.6 in September of 2024. Imports would fail with Error 2.
For most of this year that made it impossible to take advantage of the Tax Planner's option to use the 2023 TurboTax data.

Yup, and so the errors continue between Quicken and TT. When I export from Q to TT, I get a lot of errors I just have to ignore. And yes, I determined the issues are with the way Q formats the data for TT. (Like multiple tags in one transaction). Reported but no response.
