I'm also getting error code 16503 since yesterday. HTTP-400 Error from Vanguard.

Quicken, please help, or at least update us. (And the announcement posted yesterday does not reference error code 16503, so this hasn't been addressed yet.)

Same issue again here. I hope the fix will be quick in (Quicken?) arriving and not require us to delete a pile of newly-added redundant or incorrect d/led transactions like last time.

Same here. 16503 for 3 days. Reported to Quicken

I am getting the SAME ERROR CODE - please fix

I'm getting this error again as well. Today, Sunday, is day 3 for me of the same 16503 error code. Disappointing.

The issue only reappeared on QMac for me - not on QWin. I am seeing add'l issues in QMac only for Vanguard. Even though I manually entered transactions, my account balances are incorrect. This is really getting very tiring…

I too am in the 16503 purgatory level of Dante's [Removed - Language]. First it began with the Citibank reconnect earlier last week. Then it morphed into Vanguard no longer connecting. When I try to reestablish the Vanguard connection, I see the Mac version 16503 OFX error. So as of today, I can no longer connect with Citibank or Vanguard. Has anyone found a viable alternative to Quicken that can import the data? After 30 years I've able had it with Quicken. Thank you.

I had this starting yesterday. I called Vanguard this morning and the rep checked and he said it hadn't been reported. He made a report. I also uploaded data to Quicken support. Very frustrating!

As of this morning March 31st I am still getting the 16503 error code when attempting to download from Vanguard.
Last week and again today I have sent reports to Quicken including a screenshot and a sanitized file for review.

To add insult to injury my annual subscription was renewed. Quicken is very marginally useful to me without being able to communicate with Vanguard.

Very frustrating. I don't care whether this is a Quicken or Vanguard issue, both of their reputations get hurt, so they need to work together better to get this permanently fixed.

So I contacted Vanguard and they told me to download my account files and import them into my Quicken Classic for Mac application. I was hesitant to do so but made sure I had a backup and tried it. Much to my surprise it worked. This doesn't solve the problem as you still cannot do daily updates to accounts directly from Quicken but at least I can keep up with my accounts until they get this sorted out.
Even though the error codes aren't listed int this screen print, my 16503 code problem was sort of solved with this work around.

Still an issue as of March 31, 2025. Now the underlying cause is different: "HTTP-400 Error from Vanguard". Anyone working on this?

This issue was reported several days ago (just look at the date of the first post here) and has not been resolved. Was working fine before last Friday for me.

This problem has not changed for me. I am really sorry to see this 'resolution'.

Anyone else with the problem solved, or unsolved?

    … Jeff

PS I didn't mean to manual download. I meant they closed the announcement as "RESOLVED" and it's not.

Also getting the 16503 error on Mac. Like all of the other Vanguard related issues, I'm going to wait it out and not manually download anything. I'd rather not have data for a few days than to spend the time after it's resolved trying to reconcile duplicates, etc.

I'm continuously getting the same error code 16509 the last three days on multiple accounts. I began receiving this code on Friday, March 28th.

I am also still getting error 16503 when trying to download Vanguard transactions into Quicken Mac. :-/

If you're getting error 16503 (I am) that apparently is a different issue than the one marked RESOLVED this afternoon (I thought they were the same):

I saw Kathryn's post that the Vanguard issues have been fixed & that some Mac users are reporting a new error 16503, but I can't find any thread about 16503. Wanted to post this here as I'm experiencing this issue currently. Feel free to merge this into another thread if one already exists (I couldn't find it)

Also still getting the 16503 error as of a few minutes ago.

  • Quicken Mac Subscription Member ✭✭

As of 7:30am ET, error 16503 still exists. Seeing "HTTP-400 Error from Vanguard"
