Every express web account i have needs reauthorized every time i try to download transactions for each account. I do not use one step update. Using windows 10, quicken 2018. I have reset, deactivated, validate and repair, tried with VPN on and off, nothing helps All direct connect accounts work fine. Any suggestions would be most helpful. Thanks, everyone

Hello @Jim,
Thank you for letting us know you're encountering an issue. To help troubleshoot, please provide more information. When did you first notice this issue? When I check on our end, I can see a lot of account not found errors. Are you seeing CC-800 errors, CC-506 errors, or something else? Which financial institutions is this happening with? I can see you've recently had errors with Marcus by Goldman Sachs, PNC, Bank of America, and Discover. Does that match what you're seeing in your Quicken?
I look forward to your response!

@Jim please confirm which version of Quicken you are using. Quicken 2018 no longer supports any type of online services or downloading and transactions need to be entered manually.
Also if you give a little more information, it would be easier for other users to help you with your issues.

Hello Quicken Kristina,
Those are the accounts. I get cc-800 errors on all of them. This started about a month ago. I think this started around the time i received an email from Quicken stating certain accounts were changing their connection method (Citibank, Home Depot, Lowes, etc.) and I had to reauthorize those accounts to the new connection. I am not working from a backup file. I am using the latest version of Quicken R62.16. The PNC account is the credit card only. All my other accounts are direct connect with no problem. I really don't know what else I can tell you. Jim

Thank you for your reply,
To start troubleshooting this issue, please backup your Quicken file and follow these steps from this article on CC-800 errors:
First, you'll need to deactivate the affected accounts:
- Select Tools > Account List
- If present, select the Show Hidden Accounts checkbox at the bottom of the Account List
- Select Edit on each account with this error and Deactivate them on the Online Services tab
- Make sure to check for any duplicate/extra accounts, and deactivate them as necessary.
- When finished, close the Account List.
Second, reactivate the accounts:
- Select Tools > Add Account
- Complete the flow of re-adding the deactivated accounts to Quicken, using your bank login credentials and answering any security questions.
- When you reach the screen listing the accounts discovered at the financial institution, use the Action drop-downs to re-link your accounts:
- For accounts you want to re-link, select Link to existing account and choose the corresponding account to re-link with.
- Select Add to Quicken for new accounts you didn't previously track in Quicken.
Please let me know how it goes!

Quicken Kristina,
As stated in the original post, i have deactivated and reactivated all the accounts. It works fine at that moment and downloads any transactions. Come tomorrow or the next time I have transactions to download, I get the cc-800 errors and need to reauthorize the accounts once again. Jim

Kristina,
I do not know if it makes a difference or not, I did not deactivate the accounts from tool-account list. I did it from the edit account details for each account. It takes you to the same place

Thank you for your reply,
Just to confirm, did you also check for any duplicate accounts or accounts that are closed (on the financial institution side) that are still trying to connect in Quicken? That can cause the errors you're seeing.
If there are no duplicate/closed accounts that are still trying to connect, then next time the errors happen, please navigate to Help>Report a Problem and send a problem report with log files attached, and let me know that you sent them.
I'll be able to review the logs for additional insights into what is causing this issue.
Thank you!

Kristina, Still having the same problem. I just reported to Quicken and sent logs. Jim

Thank you for your reply and for sending the logs,
When I review, it looks like you've been restoring backups rather frequently. Has there been some sort of issue prompting you to restore so many backups?
Since restoring a backup can trigger CC-800 errors, it's quite possible that's the reason for the chronic connection errors you've been reporting.
I look forward to your reply!

Kristina,
I have not restored from a backup in many months, unless somehow Quicken is doing it on its own. I do not know if its makes adifference but I have quicken on different computers. Same version, same windows, same everything. Jim

Thank you for your reply,
What method are you using when you open Quicken (for example, using a shortcut, opening from the task bar, double clicking directly on a file, etc.)? If possible, please provide a screenshot of what you're clicking on, with any personal information redacted. If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.
Thank you!

Quicken is open most of time. I just minimize it and click on icon on bottom taskbar. If Quicken is not open, due to restart, for whatever reason, I, double click the Quicken icon on homepage.

Thank you for your reply,
What does the icon you click on look like? When you open the file by double clicking on your desktop, are you clicking on a shortcut for the program (see sample image below)?
If not, you may be opening a data file directly (see sample image below).
If the icon is white, you may be opening a backup file, rather than a data file (see sample image below).
Also, you mentioned that you keep your Quicken open until the computer needs to restart. Are you closing the program before restarting the computer?
Thank you!

Attached are two pictures. This is easiest way for me to do this. I believe the homepage icon is a shortcut. I do not close Quicken all the time . Windows and microsoft restart computer for updates and whatever. I have learned to quit fighting them. Power failures also

Thank you for your reply,
Thank you for the screenshots. They confirm that you're opening the program directly using the shortcut on the desktop or from the taskbar, so that shouldn't be what's causing the issue.
You mentioned that you have Quicken on multiple computers. Are you transferring the same file between those computers, or does each computer have its own, separate, Quicken file? If you are transferring the file between the computers, what method are you using?
Thank you!

Each computer has its own separate file. I update , download separately on each computer. Usually desktop in morning, laptop at night

Kristina, I do not know if this helps you or not, I just reset the PNC account on one computer. The reset had me reauthorize as usual, Then i went to other computer seconds later, and updated that same account with no problem. All cleared transactions downloaded without going thru reset, reauthorize again. Jim

Kristina, I just tried same thing from two accounts on second computer to first computer. The accounts would not update. I got same cc-800 error even tough they were were reset and reauthorized seconds ago on second computer

Thank you for your reply,
Is this issue happening on all your computers? For instance, does authorizing for the first computer cause the error to happen in the 2nd computer?
Thank you!

No, I do not believe that authorizing one causes error on other. In your opinion, do you think the Quicken file is corrupt or is windows or Norton causing problem? I am strongly considering reinstalling a clean version of Quicken from its website. This is out of my comfort zone. I would delete every Quicken file from one computer, reinstall Quicken, and add data from a flashdrive backup. Can it be done this way?

Thank you for your reply,
Because I can also see the errors when I check our internal tools, I think it is less likely for the issue to be due to file-specific issues. It is possible, but unlikely, that Norton is causing the problem. You can test by pausing or temporarily disabling Norton while using your Quicken file.
I suspect the most likely cause of this issue is whatever process is making it appear to our internal tools that you're restoring and deleting backups so frequently. You mentioned that these are separate files on separate computers. Do you copy or move your Quicken file between those computers? Do you copy or move your Quicken file to any sort of cloud storage, network drive, or external drive? What is the exact file path for your Quicken file on each computer?
Uninstalling and reinstalling Quicken may help if the issue is being caused by a program issue. Quicken does have a built-in uninstaller, but it doesn't remove every Quicken file. If you're wanting to do a clean uninstall (removing all Quicken files, rather than just the ones the uninstaller removes), you can do that manually, or you can use 3rd party tools to automate the process. Please make sure to save any Quicken data files/backup files that you want to keep to some form of external storage to prevent data loss. For information on reinstalling your Quicken program after you've uninstalled it, please see this article:
Thank you!
