EWC+ accounts worked fine yesterday (jun 26) morning. This morning (jun 27), all are hanging at the "processing" stage. Direct Connects are OK.

Same CC-501 error as everyone else this morning on many accounts. Extremely slow (hanging?) OSU process, which eventually fails, when trying OSU for all accounts and individual accounts. Problem not resolved.

Updated to newest Quicken classic yesterday. One Step Update now "hanging" - won't proceed. Very annoying!

[Removed - Rant] So a RANT by quicken now is complaining about not being able to connect and the problems of 'man in the middle' security?

    unbelievable!!

Running Quicken Classic Premier on Windows 11 Home. This morning, every time I try a One Step Update, the process begins and freezes the entire application. It get partway through and stops. The only way I get out of the freeze is use task manager to end task. Validate shows nothing. I made a backup, then uninstalled Quicken and reinstalled. Nothing. I remembered that there was a Windows update yesterday. I uninstalled that Windows update, then restarted the computer. Opened Quicken and tried the One Step Update again. Freeze!! Interesting sidenote: Even though the individual accounts are all part of the freeze and do not update, once I restart Quicken, the total in my net worth chart indicates an increase due to market conditions. Any help on this freeze issue would be appreciated.

UPDATE: As of now, the issue seems to have gone away for me. I did NOT receive any error messages. As I said, my simply froze. No action possible except use task manager to end the process. I tried another OSU about three hours ago. When it froze once more, I simply left is along in its frozen state, and I went to the gym for about 90 minutes. Upon my return home, Quicken had CLOSED on my computer. It started normally, and when I tried the OSU, it worked as it should.

My OSU is hanging also. Just started this morning. I'm on the latest version of Quicken Classic Premier. Updated to latest version a few days ago.

100% agree. I despise "Software Aas A Service."

And for it to not work and be impossible to get it fixed.

I use Quicken with 4 separate files for family, all of them will not update. Many different banks. it just hangs on the one step update progress with a spinning icon.

Been user since 1995. Quicken version 2. How about a little love Quicken?

My OSU is also having issues. I then tried to do manual updates for various accounts and get the "it's not you, it's us". I think the Intuit/Quicken server(s) may be down.

no errors on One Step Update, but very slow and no transactions downloaded. Many accounts show yesterday's date (6/26/25) instead of today's (6/27/25) for last update, although all appeared to be processing

Same here. Most of my banking update were hung, and then after a few minutes, it said failed to update CC-501. I wish Quicken has a server status page to let people know.

This began intermittently late last week and is occurring frequently this week. All direct connect accounts work perfectly (as usual). Usually all 6 of my EWC accounts get the server error but sometimes one or two will update successfully while the others fail. Seems somewhat random but something fails on every update.

Chase is working now. Schwab accounts are still stuck. YMMV.

C-501 error with one step update (6/27/2025). Attempted several times. Only a couple of accounts update, the remaining give the C-501 error!

For the past 48 hours I have been getting a error where NONE of my accounts are downloading.

Oh well, same here on Online Update inoperative. This has happened before. So best to wait for tech to investigate this hick up. Old saying applies to this: "Best to light one candle, than the curse the darkness". 😉

PS: Quote should read: "Best to light one candle, than to curse the darkness". Sorry about that 😉

I'm unable to update my accounts. This has been going on for several days again now. Updates my Vanguard account, then goes to Bills update where is spins forever, leaving all else without updates.

Very frustrating for the continued price increases.

None of my accounts show the transactions of the past three days. The update process was stuck for 1/2 hour. This is latest windows version. I have tried all the reboots and resets suggested. No progress.

So mine works now as of the time I post this. After the earlier failure, I attempted to reset my BofA account. It failed to connect and I lost the ewc+ connection entirely. Tried to setup again and same result. So I left it alone.

Just now tried OSU and all accounts except BofA sync'ed successfully. Back to BofA to setup and successfully linked to existing account. Reran OSU with all accounts checked and all successfully updated (0 new transaction now).

Let's see what happens tomorrow. :)

This is not a Quicken version issue. It is happening regardless of the version that is installed.

My EWC and EWC+ accounts now appear to be updating properly.

Note I did not attempt any resetting, relinking, etc. during this morning's outage.

If were receiving errors prior to this morning, your connections will probably still be broken.

    Hello @Toasties,

Thank you for letting us know you're still seeing an issue. To clarify, the problem you're running into is the One Step Update getting stuck when trying to update bills? You mentioned it's been going on for days. Do you recall when the issue first started? Are you seeing any error messages/codes?

I look forward to your reply!

    Hi Kristina,

Up until I tried the last update 10 minutes ago, I received no error message, the update just kept "running" at bills update. Funny, it updated my Vanguard, but none of my other financial accounts. The "running" at bills has been an off/on problem for last week, or so? Does this have something to do with your bill pay conversions?

    Hi Kristina,

Now updates says it has updated my bills, stock quotes/headlines, and vanguard. However, my cap1, amex, boa give me the 501 error (which I had not been receiving up until these last two updates in the last 30 minutes.

Thank you for your reply @Toasties,

You mentioned it's been an off and on problem. Does that mean it sometimes gets stuck at bills, but sometimes doesn't? If that is the case, how often is it getting stuck?

For the CC-501 issue that just started today, is it showing the "not your fault" error or is it showing "Oops, we're having a problem" (the troubleshooting is slightly different, depending on which message you are seeing)?

    Thank you!

This has been an issue, but not on this scale, since either Quicken or the Financial Institutions went to Express Web Connect (EWC) and Express Web Connect Plus (EWC+). As many of you have noted, it is not occurring with Fidelity, PNC, or any other account that uses Direct Connect. Schwab used Direct Connect in the past, but switched, I believe last summer, and has this issue now as well. Quick Books and M & T Bank also use EWC and EWC+ and do not have this issue so it can work. Just not sure why Quicken can not seem to be able to fix it.

    Hi Kristina,

Over the last week, or so, I'd say it was off about 30% of the time, and on the rest. And yes, stuck at bills about 30% of the time and rest not. The 501 is showing error is on quicken server side.
