Franklin Templeton connection failures

I had trouble with my signon to Franklin Templeton as they changed their platform and format (yuk!). I have that straightened out now and can sign on to their site.

In the confusion I lost my Quicken setup for FT. I am unable to set up download to their site. I start the setup process, input my username and password. I then receive a text for 2FA. I input the code correctly and am then told: "Sorry. We have encountered an error. (It's not your fault.)" and Q is having trouble connecting. No error code.

I assume the 2FA text means the username and password were accepted by the FT website.

How do I correct this?

    Hello @NebularNovice,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I checked your account, and you’re receiving an internal error of FDP-106 (CC-506), which is a known issue that has been escalated, though we do not have an ETA on resolution at this time. While the investigation remains ongoing, please refer to this Community Alert for any and all available updates and information.

We apologize for any inconvenience in the meantime! Thank you.

Thanks. At least I know to stop trying for now. I've marked the alert to stay informed.

Color me disgusted. I am signed in, which lets me read this thread and respond, but when I click on Community Alert above, I am told:

    Permission Problem

You don't have permission to do that.

I also can see an alert to me that points to the same thing (I think), but get the same error message when I click on that.

What happened there? How do I get to it?

    Hello @NebularNovice,

The “Permission Problem” message you’re seeing is because the Community Alert for the Franklin Templeton issue was marked resolved on 7/7/25 and, as per standard process, was archived 3 days later. Once archived, alerts are no longer viewable to general users—only admins and moderators retain access to those posts.

If you're still experiencing the same issue despite the alert being marked resolved, we recommend contacting Quicken Support directly for further assistance and possible escalation if needed.

    Thanks for following up!

An expression of opinion about policy is a rant. ??

I contacted support and they were no help. I signed on to the Franklin Templeton website directly to validate that I had the correct signin data. We set up a test file, tried to download, and received the same error, shown as cc-501. The agent then told me that I need to do something with Franklin Templeton to authorize Quicken to access my data. This was despite me receiving the 2FA code and entering it within Quicken to validate Quicken's access.

She was unable to tell me anything about what I needed to do on the FT website to give this permission. I sure would have thought that me entering the correct signin info and 2FA code within Quicken should have satisfied this.

It's of course possible that the Alert which I can't see has the info I need. ??
