How do I create a report for a specific category which contains all transactions in that category?

I am using Quicken Classic Deluxe in a Windows laptop. I am able to create a report showing the total expenses for a specific category. I would like to create a report for a specific category but have the report list all the transactions in that category for a given time period. I spent lots of time trying to figure out how to do it with no luck. Could you please tell me using specific steps how I can create a report of a category in which all of the transactions for that category are listed in the report. Thanks.

Reports > Spending > Spending by Category > Customize to only include the one Category you're interested in > Customize to include all Accounts in the File > Customize to the desired date range. Expand the resulting one line to see all the transactions.

I would use the Spending > Itemized Categories report customized as @Tom Young describes. If the report does not show the transactions, click on the + sign next to the Category name to expand it.

I was going to tell you about the Reports→Spending→Itemized Categories, but @Jim_Harman beat me to it and I was going to include screenshots, but I won't now.

Super helpful responses. Thanks. My problem was that I was using Reports>Spending>Spending by Category and couldn't figure out how to expand the one line (total) into individual transactions. Tom pointed me in the right direction with "Expand the resulting one line." I had to do it by hovering the cursor over the line until it changed to a magnifier with a + in it - wasn't obvious to me. Regarding Jim's suggestion regarding Reports>Spending>Itemized Categories (which I didn't try before reading his response), the solution is more obvious, because as he wrote, there is a plus sign next to the category name which expands the line into all transactions.

    Thanks again.

Even better, click on Yes next to "Did this answer the question?"

When I want a quick look at all transactions for a category or payee or with a particular memo, I use the All Transactions register, type the text I am looking for in the register search field, and select the desired date range. You can find the link for the All Transactions register at the top of the Account Bar.
