Quarterly Reminders Errors

Quicken Classic Deluxe, Version R54.25 Build 27.1.64.25

I've had two quarterly reminders for many years. Recently I've noticed that the reminders keep popping up each time I start Quicken. Since we're really close to the 25Q3 submission (Sept 25), and I'd already submitted it, I selected "Skip" and it went away.

However, next time I started Quicken, it was there again. OK, minor annoyance so I selected "Skip" again.

Next time I opened Quicken…there it was, again, the 25Q3 reminder.

Now kind of really annoyed, I went into Tools/"Manage…" and noticed that both reminders had continued and were now at 26Q2 for the reminder date, even though they've been presented to me each time as the 25Q3 reminder. This means that these annoying reminders weren't for the same date, they were for the subsequent date, a year into the future, despite what they indicated. Each time I selected "Skip" it incremented them to the next quarter.

This is only happening with the two quarterly reminders, the others seem to be OK.

I've edited both and re-saved, with no difference in behavior. I edited the due date to 25Q4 and they came back to 25Q3. And when I "skipped" the 25Q3 they jumped to 26Q1.

I cannot offer in which version introduced this error, we've had too many recent updates.

More info: I deleted those quarterly reminders and created new ones, using the "Tax Schedule" option, which I didn't know existed before.

Same problem: they showed up this AM as due for this quarter, even though I had skipped them before, and when I skipped them again they moved out well into the future.

    Please fix this.

    Hello @grega,

Thank you for letting us know you're encountering this issue. This sort of behavior is often associated with file specific problems. To troubleshoot, I suggest that you try validating your data file.  Please save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    Validate:

    1. File
    2. Validate and Repair File...
    3. Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

Please let me know how it goes!

The "Tax Schedule" Reminders are designed for use with estimated tax payments.

The next date is 9/15 so it was right to prompt you that a payment is due. The next date after that is 1/15/26

I changed them to "Tax Schedule", still behave the same and keep incrementing into the future each time I start the program.

Per Quicken support chat, it's a known issue. I've deleted these reminders for the time being.
