Transactions downloaded from Merrill Lynch not mapped correctly

Why are these issues "NOT" a problem with other vendors?
I've had good success with Vanguard, Merrill Lynch's parent Bank of America, PenFed, KeyBank, USAA, American Express, and Discover to name a few, and all on Quicken Express Web Connect or Quicken Express Web Connect+.
Frustrating… [Removed-Disruptive]MEL0 -
I too switched to EWC+ 2 days ago because of the "forced conversion" deadline. The first day, the transaction appeared work but there really were no actual transactions to download. Today, all the transactions that were downloaded had no description, symbols etc - just the value. These were "pending" in ML so maybe they will get corrected when they settle? All the dividend transactions had no security information or anything in the "memo" field and I had to manually update them
Have been a Quicken user for over 10 years and am getting really frustrated now. When will this madness end?.

I have successfully migrated from DC to EWC+ on Merrill Edge. I have only retirement accounts, no taxable accounts, and have little activity in any, so I'm probably not a good example to use.
When I reauthorized to ML EWC+ using the reauthorize button, the accounts offered by ML included my BofA checking and credit card accounts. The converse is not true of my BofA EWC+ connections. They do not include my ML accounts.
I elected to include all BofA and ML accounts in the ML EWC+ connection to reduce the number of distinct connections. So far, it works for all accounts.
ML's clumsy treatment of stock dividends and reinvestments continues as it did in the DC connection. I receive a dividend recorded as DIV and there is a withdrawal signifying movement of the cash to ML's reinvestment fund, on the same day. A separate transaction reflects purchase of the reinvested asset.
The last transaction lacks any details and is somewhat worse that the DC process, but it's pretty bad. I just delete all 3 transactions and manually record a REINV transaction using information displayed online. I don't think that's Quicken's fault because it looks similar online. Fidelity's handling of REINV is far smoother, at least in the DC connection. I haven't reconnected to EWC+ there, yet. I'm postponing that as long as I can.

I have stumbled across this thread after tolerating this ML-download madness for a long time. When converted to direct connect, I had to reauthorize almost every time I tried to download. After EWC+ reset, that hassle is gone.
I have two IRA accounts and significant number of monthly options transactions in addition to Div and occasional buy/sell transactions. The ML-developers have done a shoddy job in classifying the transactions or providing correct security information. The latest EWC+ downloads do not provide correct symbols in the Security field and as a result it is not possible to adjust the expired or rolled options to covered-short. Even their mobile apps or web-apps suck when it comes to rolling over transactions.
With my Schwab accounts, I never had download or mobile-related issues. I am actively considering moving ML accounts to Schwab.

I was somewhat taken aback today when I received an e-mail from Quicken regarding a yearly subscription prices increase to $101.88 (Quicken Classic - Premier)…
"We’re writing to let you know that your Quicken Classic subscription price will increase at your next renewal. Until then, your current rate stays the same. We’ve included all your renewal details below.
Your continued support helps us keep improving the product you rely on — from fixing over 200 bugs to enhancing performance."
I replied to Quicken with the following e-mail:
"I’m currently paying for a subscription service for a product that is broken. The Quicken “Direct Connection” to the “Express Web Connection +” with Merrill Lynch has been broke since it was initiated and with the hard cutoff transition of 9/22/25, it still fails to work correctly. Feedback on the Quicken support forums confirms this fiasco.

Thank you,"

I just received this via e-mail from Quicken today (10/8/25) for an event that happened between 9/20/25 and 9/22/25…
We would like to bring to your attention a recent issue that may have affected some Merrill Lynch account downloads in Quicken.
What happenedBetween 6:00 AM ET on Sept 20, 2025, and 11:30 PM ET on Sept 22, 2025, some transaction data from Bank of America/Merrill Lynch was sent incorrectly to Quicken. For some customers who downloaded during this period:
•
Some Buy, Sell, Reinvestment, and Transfer transactions may be missing
•
Dividend and Interest transactions to may appear as Deposits
•
Expense transactions (like Margin Interest) may appear as Withdrawals
This only affects accounts using Complete Investing.Simple Investing accounts are not impacted. Do you need to take action?
•
If your transactions look correct, you don’t need to do anything. You may not have been affected.
•
If you do notice missing or incorrect transactions, we’ve prepared step-by-step guidance on how to fix them.
If you are seeing these issues, read the complete FAQ & Fix Instructions. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you,The Quicken Team

I have gone 2 weeks with no download issues! No pending, no duplicates, no unknown securities. The last issues were the first week of October with distributions and fees, so I won't believe everything is fixed until next month.

@Michael Sloss glad to hear it. I am still having inconsistent issues and I am still testing and I am still doing manual QFX data downloads for the best results. I'm slowly trying to have enough confidence to trust the Quicken Merrill Lynch EWC+ process.
