Continuing issues with Quicken /Fidelity in reporting shares of Money Market FDRXX and Cash

There are the same continuing issues with problems in reconciling cash in Quicken vs Fidelity, and shares of Money Market In Quicken vs. Fidelity.

When a stock divident is received in Fidelity, it is automatically added as the additional shares of the Money Market FDRXX. Fidelity does not have a "Cash" category.

But in Quicken, the dividend is represented as Cash.

So, the Cash Balance in Quicken is always incorrect, and the reconcilliation of Shares in FDRXX is always flagged by Quicken as a discrepancy between that seen by Quicking and Fidelity.

One could manually zero out the cash balance in Quicken, and manually adjust the shares in FDRXX. But that solution fails the next day or two or three when another stock dividend is declared.

In the time period around 9/25/25, various suggestions were made in this Community by Quicken representatives, to resolve this issue by changing settings in the account

Not only does this not solve the problem, but those suggestions boxes to click seem to have disappeared all together.

Can Quicken please give a current status of this issue and its solution?

    Hello @Matthew Boone,

Thank you for sharing the details about the FDRXX cash and shares discrepancies. This is a known issue affecting Fidelity core positions like FDRXX, where stock dividends are represented as cash in Quicken even though Fidelity tracks them differently. This causes the cash balances and share counts to mismatch and requires manual adjustments to reconcile.

There is an open escalation ticket (CTP-14817) currently tracking this problem. A fix is in progress, but there is no ETA available at this time.

We understand this can be frustrating, and we appreciate your patience while the Quicken team works on a proper resolution.

    Thank you!

Sales of Fidelity Treasury Money Market to fund the linked Fidelity Cash Management (Checking) account do not get downloaded into Quicken. I am having to do that manually. Reset does not resolve the issue.

After months of frustrating issues with Quicken's lack of functionality, I wondering if Quicken will give a partial refund to long-term loyal users or a credit towards future use.

    It's a legitimate question.

Are there any updates to this issue? I still have this problem with my FDRXX values.

There was a new Quicken release today that provided me with the option to change how FDRXX is represented. It ended up "exchanging" the cash for shares. Is this the fix for CTP-14817 or something else?

    Hello @Chuck85,

Great question—and thanks for checking in.

A new Quicken release (R65.15) has started rolling out, and it includes updates that allow users to better identify money market holdings like FDRXX and adjust how those positions are represented in Quicken. We have already received feedback from some customers that these changes are helping resolve the cash/share discrepancy behavior.

This version is being released gradually, as we normally do with major updates, so not all users will receive it at the same time. As the rollout continues, more customers will see the option you mentioned.

If the new setting addressed the issue for you, that’s great news—and it does align with the work that's been done under the escalation ticket.

    Thank you!

Quicken Anja, does this fix rollout apply also to the MAC versions (i.e., 8.x)? My understanding is that the Cash v. FDRXX issue with Fidelity accounts crosses both the Quicken Windows and MAC versions.

    Hello @shobackt,

    Great question!

The recent updates tied to the escalation (CTP-14817) apply specifically to Quicken Classic for Windows.

That said, I'll reach out to our internal teams to check on the status for Mac and see if additional information is available regarding similar improvements there. As soon as I receive an update, I’ll be sure to follow up.

    Thank you!

    Hello @Quicken Anja ,

There have been a lot of posts about FDRXX used as a core position.

Is this issue marked as resolved with R65.XX now or are there still lingering problems with FDRXX?

    Checking before upgrading to R65.XX.

I still have the problem with FDRXX after upgrading to R65.17. In the Online Services window it says "Treat this Money Market as Cash: none". When I click Set/Edit, and look at the list of funds, FDRXX is not in the list. When I click Customize, FDRXX is not in the dropdown list. Only FZDXX is which is another MM account but this is not my cash account.

    Hello All,

@rayseidlinger, the new Quicken release (R65.17) is now live and available to all users so you should be able to install it now.

    ——

@leishirsute, the issue tracked under escalation ticket CTP‑14817 is now marked resolved. If you want to take extra precaution, we recommend saving a backup before updating, just to ensure you have a fallback “just in case.”Thanks to both of you for your patience!

    ——

@Tom-R, thanks for the details. Just to clarify—are you referring to RZDXX as the security causing the issue, or was that a typo?

Could you also provide a screenshot of what you’re seeing in the Online Services window? Additionally, is this issue affecting all of your accounts or just this one?

If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.

    Thank you!

Sorry Anja. Typos. I corrected my original comment. Here are some screen shots.

This happens with all 4 IRA accounts. The 3 brokerage accounts are good.

@Tom-R Thanks for the follow-up and for providing the screenshots.

You can try reinstalling the latest update patch for R65.17 here to ensure it is installed correctly.

If the problem persists after reinstalling, we recommend reaching out to Quicken Support directly so they can log it and investigate further.

    Thank you!

@Quicken Anja The issues with FDRXX as the core position seem mostly but not completely resolved. Quicken still reports a downloaded Fidelity cash balance of $0.00 even though the Fidelity website shows the cash balance is the value matching FDRXX. In the example below, Quickens shows the downloaded Fidelity cash balance is $0.00. However, the Fidelity website shows the cash balance is $2087.94 which matches the value of core position FDRXX. I'm using Quicken R65.17 in a Windows Sandbox. The Online Center in Quicken states that FDRXX is the (cash balance) with a value of $2087.94 and that Available Cash is $2087.94. So it seems Quicken is reporting the incorrect cash balance amount downloaded from Fidelity or is not setting the downloaded value of FDRXX to be used as the "The cash balance downloaded from Fidelity Invest…".

    image.png

    From the Fidelity website:

    image.png

In fact, Quicken seems to "know" the downloaded value from Fidelity is $2087.94 as indicated by the "use unadjusted balance from brokerage: $2,087.94". So it may just be a cosmetic correction in Quicken to have it report the correct downloaded Fidelity cash balance for FDRXX. Just guessing.

Hello, Yes, still have issues with Fidelity FDRXX in at least 2 account. Currently using Quicken Business & Personal, R65.17, Build 27.1.65.17. (Quicken user since the early 1990's) I'm not finding the screens shown in the Nov 30 post where there's apparently an option to 'select the cash calculation method'?

So my questions are: 1) Am I correct in understanding that the supposed 'fix' has been completed for all users, and thus I'll now need to contact Quicken Support? and 2) Am I correct that I will be able to choose to track FDRXX as a cash position, equivalent to how it appears in the positions on the Fidelity website (vs Quicken still shows Fidelity reported cash as zero, same as the previous screenshots)?

I have the same issue as the above that shows current cash balance in quicken and shows the cash balance downloaded from fidelity as zero. accounts FDRXX, FZFXX. SPAXX shows same dollar amount for quicken and Fidelity download.

@PK2K Once I updated to R65.17, here is what I did to set FDRXX as the cash core position. I used Customize in the In Set/Edit in the Account Details window and selected FDRXX as the fund to use as the core cash position.

    image.png

Although the Investment Register incorrectly shows the value downloaded from Fidelity as $0.00 (reported as a bug), the Online Center correctly shows FDRXX is used as the Cash Balance and has the correct downloaded value.

    Hope this helps.
