Quicken for Mac Investment Reports
I have been a quicken user for years. I am getting very frustrated when I get new updates on my mac that don't include any new investment reports as the windows version has. When will this happen? Seems like if quicken respects and appreciates its Mac user base it would at least make efforts to incrementally release investment reports. Sure updating the Dashboards and graphs are nice but they are not reports where you can manipulate them. As a retired developer I realize you cannot achieve all updates at once, but you can incrementally! For now I guess I have to continue to export my data from quicken and import them into Numbers to create the reports I want. Is anyone at quicken even listening to its Mac users? Does anyone else have similar frustrations with managing investments on your Mac?

Is anyone at quicken even listening to its Mac users?
Yes, they do listen. It may not seem so at times, but I know the Quicken Mac product manager reads the feature request posts to understand what parts of the program are most in need of attention. But senior management can also force the Mac development team's hand, such as deciding to implement business and invoicing features which consumed a lot of time and resources over the past two years, or implementing a new bill payment processing system. I share your frustration that many of the top wishlist items — including this one — remain on the to-do list while other, seemingly-less-important features have gotten implemented. Sometimes this is due to which developers on the very small development team have time to work on features and which are tied up on other projects; one developer probably does most of the work on Dashboards, for instance, while someone else probably does most of the work on reports.
Last time I reviewed all the Product Ideas for Quicken Mac, there were 34 with a status of "Planned" and 42 more with a status of "Under Consideration". At the pace the development team is able to run out new and enhanced features, those Ideas represent work that will take years to complete. And keep in mind that we Quicken Mac users are far from unanimous about which features we consider most important. In the Product Ideas area of this community forum, for instance, the top-voted one involving investment reports ranks number 12 in overall votes; there are many more votes for features like Savings Goals, Multi-Currency Support, Lifetime Planner, and a variety of Budget capabilities and enhancements. And the developers also listen to reports from their Customer Support teams about what areas are causing problems or confusion to users, and to senior management when they dictate implementing compatibility with certain features in Quicken Windows or Quicken Simplifi. How they put all these factors into a matrix and determine when each one will get time on the schedule is something we users don't get much insight into.
Does anyone else have similar frustrations with managing investments on your Mac?
Yes, absolutely! It's one of the areas of glaring shortcomings in Quicken Mac, in my opinion. And in the opinion of many other users. There are at least four threads in the Product Ideas section for investment reporting capabilities. This first one has 169 votes, putting it in the Top Dozen feature requests on the site; it is marked as "Planned" by the developers:
There are at least three other threads asking for similar or overlapping investment reporting capabilities. Since these are marked as "Under Consideration", it's not clear whether the developers view these as different projects or all under the same umbrella. (You can click on each of them and add your vote just in case higher vote totals might help them move higher on the priority list.)

Jacobs thanks for the very detailed response. I am glad others are wanting these features as well.
