Facilitate temporary Read only view of a backup file

Sometimes I need to view the contents of a backup file (many reasons).

I do this by making a copy of the backup file I wish to view and then Open that file.in quicken.

This works, but is awkward - have to restore the current active file.

Would be nice to have an option to temporarily view, Read Only, a backup file, then easily revert back to the current active file.

Thanks, Peter Henderson

Have you tried when making the copy of the backup file to change the name of the file (to make different from the original file) ) and change the extension from .backup-qdf to .qdf.

Then you can just open the file and when you want to go back to the original file, just open it from the recent file list at the bottom of the File menu.
