How do I rent multiple properties to a single tenant?
I own storage units and have several tenants who rent multiple units. How do I assign multiple units to a single tenant without having to name them something different for each unit?

AFAIK, there's a one-on-one relationship between Properties and Tenants. One tenant can only occupy one property.
You will have to put a suffix on the Tenant name, e.g., "Donald Duck -123", "Donald Duck -124", to show that Donald occupies both storage units (properties) 123 and 124.Managing storage units appears to have been something the programmers did not plan for when they wrote the Rental Properties feature many years ago.
If you feel strongly enough that Quicken programmers should add a feature where tenants may occupy more than one property please feel free to add a new Idea type discussion to this Community. For additional information about idea posts please read https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7849425/creating-and-voting-for-ideas-in-the-community#latest

Hello @musicwyo,
Thanks for reaching out!
What @UKR said is correct—currently in Quicken each tenant can only be assigned to one property. If a tenant rents multiple units, the usual workaround is to add a suffix or identifier to the tenant name for each unit.
If you’d like to see the ability to assign multiple properties to a single tenant added in the future, I’d recommend creating an Idea post in the Community. That way, other users who want the same feature can vote on it, and our Product and Development teams review these ideas when considering new features and improvements.
Thank you!

Thanks everyone for the input. I was hoping for a different answer, but was assuming that was what the answer was. I can do it via invoices, but that defeats the purpose of the rental property manager…

@musicwyo I definitely understand. Unfortunately, the property/tenant setup is limited in Quicken right now, so using invoices or the naming workaround is the only option.
Submitting an Idea post is the best way to let our team know this feature would be helpful.
