Mutual Fund Prior Day Prices Overwritten by Prior-Prior Day at EOD
Apparently this has been raised before, but I don't see it here in the forum.
In Quicken Mobile, when mutual fund prices come in (~6 PM ET), the current day's closing price is correct, but the prior day's closing price gets rolled back to what appears to be the prior-prior day's close. So the daily gains and losses are way off. It works correctly in the desktop, so clearly Quicken knows how this is supposed to work, and has infrastructure to do so.
This is particularly frustrating because at the start of the day, Quicken Mobile correctly shows last night's close as the baseline price (assuming I synced the night before, or even during the day). So whatever service the system uses on the back end clearly has the correct prior-day close at that point. When the batch update runs to pull in today's close, it apparently overwrites that correct baseline with a stale price.
The fix should be straightforward: when the nightly batch updates today's closing price, just leave yesterday's close, which was already correct, as the opening baseline. Quicken knows how to do this correctly, they do it right in the desktop. This isn't some kind of "provider issue." Quicken is the provider (facing the Mobile application).
I'm raising this because it's an appalling and glaring error for an investment tracking app, and one that erodes trust in the portfolio view. Quicken does make regular updates to Mobile, so it's not completely unloved. Hoping to hear from other users who've seen this. The more voices, the more likely it gets prioritized.
