Need a tool that convert amount in words?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a reliable tool or method to convert numeric amounts into words (for example, 1,250 → “One thousand two hundred fifty”) for use in checks and legal documents.

Ideally, I need something accurate and easy to use, preferably supporting large numbers and proper formatting for financial/legal purposes.

Any recommendations for tools, libraries, or websites?

Thanks in advance!

I searched the web for "convert numeric amounts into words" and got lots of stuff.

-splasher using Q continuously since 1996
    - Subscription Quicken - Win11 and QW2013 - Win11

Doesn’t the check writing function in Quicken convert the numeric value into words for the face of the check?

Quicken user since Q1999. Currently using QW2017.

Simply use CoPilot (or probably any AI agent):

$1,250.00 written out in words is:

One thousand two hundred fifty dollars

If you need it in a more formal check‑writing style:

One thousand two hundred fifty dollars and 00/100

If you want it formatted differently, I can do that too

Yes, and it has ever since printed checks became a feature.

Quicken's check writing function converts the numeric value into words, but I don't see any way to copy and paste that into another application, as the OP apparently wants.

I think this is a trivial ask. Like asking for "5 + 7" to be converted to "twelve". Any brain that can handle Quicken can do this.

Copilot is my go-to for things like this too, especially since I use MS Edge for my browser and so I can just click on the Copilot Chat button and type that in.

I gave it a number over 1 million even with cents and it did fine.

I can also search, but the thing is i'm asking if someone using any tool personally. need something that people already experienced.
