Ally Invest - Issues
Hello - I am still unable to capture any of my Ally invest balances. My prior thread was closed I assume due to inactivity / lack of resolution. I would like to hear from others do you have Ally invest and is it linked to Quicken classic and works? I did both setup options simple invest and transaction. Both show zero balance. I then tried to add the security details, shares myself. On the next account update it wiped it all out to zero. Is Quicken just unable to support Ally Invest?

Hello @Marco500,
Thank you for reaching out again!
Unfortunately, the issue with investment information not downloading is a known issue. Please see this FAQ for more information:
While the FAQ mentions transactions specifically, the original ticket from when the change happened indicates that investment accounts may show a $0 balance because holdings information isn't being provided.
Is this the previous discussion you're referring to?
If it is, it was closed due to inactivity. When a discussion has been inactive for about a month, it gets closed, even if the issue is not resolved.
Your previous post indicates that you contacted Support. What method did you use (phone or chat)? Do you have the ticket number from when you reached out?
I look forward to your response!

I used chat. Shall I reach back out? Yes that is exactly my prior conversation.

Thank you for your reply,
The issue with $0 balance showing for Ally Investment accounts was reported in CTP-8683. I reached out to my team internally for an update on the issue. Due to the weekend, I probably won't hear back until Monday or Tuesday.
I'll follow up once I have more information.

Hello @Marco500,
Following up on my earlier post, I received confirmation that Ally Investment accounts are currently not supported. However, our teams are still working on the issue. It may be supported in the future.
Since this is a known issue, there is no need to reach out via chat.
In the meantime, if Ally offers QFX/Web Connect files, you may be able to update the account that way. For information on QFX/Web Connect, please review this article:
I hope this helps!

Okay thanks for responding back. So my next course of action is to just unlink it from automatic downloads and go manual or the QFX approach?

Hello @Marco500,
Great question —and yes, given the current situation, those would be your best options.
Since Ally Invest accounts are not currently supported for automatic downloads, you can either:
- Keep the account connected but manage it manually (entering transactions and updating holdings yourself), or
- Deactivate the online connection and use Web Connect (QFX), if Ally provides that option, to import transactions when available
Between the two, using QFX/Web Connect is generally the better approach if it’s available, since it allows you to import data directly rather than entering everything manually.
Unfortunately, until full support is restored, automatic updates won’t function as expected for these accounts.
Thank you!
