Customize budget to permit date range changes (53 Legacy Votes)

I like to export the budget as a summary variance report each month. Unfortunately, if I do not do it on the exact last day of the month, the budget date changes to the next month and I cannot export the previous month's variance data.
I suggest that there be a customizing feature added to the budget spreadsheet that will permit a change to the date range of the budget month. I am using Quicken 2017 for Mac so I do not know if this applies to Windows.

I have read several posts about the lack of a reasonable, basic budget variance report or view in Quicken 2017 Mac. Although workarounds have been suggested, it does seem unreasonable that this software does not allow a specific time frame report - such as year-to-date, quarter-to-date or any specified time frame. This has been going on for years. Why do thousands of users to have to export and write their own report in excel, when Quicken could write it once and have it available to everyone? I would also like to see the 1-month view on the Budget tab to have a date range as well, in order to have that nice bar line view for different date ranges instead of only one specific month. I don't know how to get support for this suggestion out there for people to vote on. I see voting capability on some posts, but I don't know how they get there.
The place to compare your actuals to your budget is in a Budget report (such as Reports > Spending > Current Budget).
You can choose any date range you like there.
Questions? Check out the Quicken Windows FAQ list
BTW where's the vote icon?
Not great design, in my opinion, but once you know how to use it, it's easy enough.
For example, let's say today is July 4th. I want to see my year to date budget results as of the end of last month, June 30th -- not as of July 4th.
How do I do that? It should be simple to do, but I can't find anything

I have moved your post to the ongoing Idea thread to add the ability to choose the date range when viewing the budget.

I'm surprised it's not be done earlier.
Thanks
