I don't know how many users utilize this site, or how many take time to search for and vote for feature requests like this, nor how effective voting on this site is at influencing the developers — but it's one of the primary ways we users have to push ideas/requests/needs in front of them. For any idea, it may be something they already have on their list of possible future features, or they may not be aware it's a significant pain point for many users. In this case, this longstanding thread is slowly inching up in votes, but it needs 7 more votes (to reach 30) in order to be sent to the developers for consideration and evaluation.
