Hello @SKawalko
Thank you for taking the time to visit the Community to post your issue, although I apologize that you haven't received a response.
I am currently unable to recreate this in my Quicken.
Are you seeing this in every single account or a specific account? If a specific account, what type of account is it?
Does this also occur if you create a new transaction?
Please let me know!~~~***~~~0 -
The problem occurs in all accounts and with both existing and new transactions. I've even created a completely new Quicken file and the problem occurs with any account I create in the new Quicken file.0

Hello @SKawalko
Thank you for the response and for providing additional details.
If you haven't done so already, I would start by going to File > Save a Back and proceed with uninstalling and reinstalling the application.
Steps and information on uninstalling/reinstalling are available here.
Let me know how it goes!

I have the MacOS calendar type set to ISO 8601 to get calendar week numbering in Calendar to be consistent with how my employer numbers calendar weeks. If I switch back to Gregorian, the calendar pop-up behaves properly. So, it's a problem with how Quicken parses dates when the calendar type is ISO 8601.0
-
When I click new and then click on the calendar box, rather than showing the current year it shows 1899. If you hand edit the date, the correct year shows up. BUG!1

When entering a date using the pop up calerdar, the default date is Jan 1900 and not the current date0

Thanks; I'll check1

Just upgraded (FRIDAY Update Again), and I have noticed the same thing. IF I choose the Calendar to edit a date on the transaction a few days, it comes up with1

Thanks. This is already set that way. This issue ust happened with update Version 5.15.2 (Build 515.33015.100)1 -
When entering a date using the pop up calendar, the default date is Jan 1900 and not the current date--checked language and region panel...
Version 5.15.2 (Build 515.33015.100)0 -
December 31, 1899 will be the date displayed by default when you select to display the calendar in the date field of an account register0
-
Agreed. Using macOS 10.12.6 and Quicken Version 5.15.2 (Build 515.33015.100) the default date in the register is set to Jan 1900 not the current date. What a royal pain that is!! How do we get the date to stop going back to Jan 1900? This problem only occurred after I installed the latest Quicken update this morning.0
-
Downloaded and installed Mac Version 5.15.2 (Build 515.33015.100) this morning (macOS 10.15.3). Pop up calendar in date field defaults to January 1, 1900. Have restarted, etc. No change. Easy to work around but annoying.0

Please use Help > Report a Problem to report this bug. The more people who do so, the more likely it will get quick notice and attention for a fix.Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19930

@RickO I was only suggesting that sometimes multiple problem reports helps an issue get quick attention. They don't need a thousand reports, but reports from several people of the same issue can help it pop out for immediate notice. If anyone knows it has been acknowledged by Quicken Marcus or one of the development team, then it becomes unnecessary to continue to report it.Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19931

Thanks for the help, but damned if I can find Help > Report a Problem. It's probably obvious to SuperUsers, not so much to groundlings like me.0

Ha! Thanks again. As usual I was in the wrong weed patch.0

Yup. Just the pop up. Agreed, not a big deal. Just a matter of changing habits until an update is released but at least wanted to mention it.0 -
When opening a new transaction the date is correct. However, if you attempt to change the date by clicking on the calendar icon it defaults to "Dec 1899". Happens for me in all accounts.0

Multiple discussions under way in the Community on that subject.

3 updates ago (currently 5.15.2 Quicken for Mac 2020) the check amount stopped filling in with the amount from the last check -- handy for ongoing payments -- now, not so much. Today's update messed up the calendar. As you probably know, it is difficult to just type in a date - the calendar always pops up - the pop-up calendar was January 1900 rather than this month's calendar. It took over five minutes to scroll 120 years. What a pain. It seems to me that this program is working less and less well with each update. You're breaking stuff instead of fixing them. I am SO sorry I fell for the update today. 3/21/191

See attached snapshot. Running Mac Movjave (10.14.6) on Quicken Premier ver. 5.15.2. When you select on an existing entry then click on the date box, the pop up displays the Month and Year of "Dec 1899". In the entry/snapshot the actual date is 23-Mar-2020 and I want to change to a late/future date for scheduleing purposes. This is the first time I see the date box not with the "current" Month & Year... was not on pervious releases of Quicken Premier.0
-
@MarieRediess There's no reason to scroll through 120 years! First, you can just type the date; even if the calendar is visible, you can type the date. Second, if you have the calendar visible, there's a Today button which jumps that date to today, from where you can move up or down as needed. (Alternatively, just type 't' to jump the date to today.)
It's a newly-introduced bug, to be sure, but it's just a minor inconvenience that's easily worked around.Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19931 -
Bug report... After updating to 5.15.2, in the date portion of the register, when you click on the small calendar icon, the calendar reverts to January 1, 1900... If you select "today" from a date other than today, it will enter "todays date". But if you try to change the date using the calendar icon, it reverts to January 1, 1900. All registers I have (I have 3) exhibit this behavior. You manually have to enter the date... the calendar function in the register does not work. Is this a known bug, or is there a work around? I recall "reindexing" Quicken 2007... anything like that now? Thanks.0

Ricko said, "Check that in System Preferences > Language & Region > Calendar is set to Gregorian." There is no such choice on my Quicken for Mac (Version 5.15.2 (Build 515.33015.100)) As I see from the continuing a discussion, this IS a BUG. Next time I will go through Help ... Report a problem ... (Removed-Argumentative/Disruptive)0

Same problem with the pop-up calendar and it's SUPER annoying. Trying to be patient on the fix but it can't come fast enough.0

Wow -- thanks a ton! Somehow I missed that "type the letter t" tip. That helps a lot.0
