It will be nice to have the ability to individual type of transaction on your register to have different colors like a pending quick pay in different color or a pending income reminder on a different color etc. basically a bill reminder not matched for a transaction to have a different color vs just highlighted
I am looking for the SAME ROW and/or FIELD HIGHLIGHT TOOL. Please add this feature so a highlighted ROW or FIELD will visually jump out at me as soon as I open Quicken W10. 🤞🖐️🧐📒📒📒
Hello All,
The status of this Idea has been changed to Under Consideration as it has reached enough votes and has been submitted to our Product and Development team for further review.
Thank you!
The status of this Idea has been changed to Planned as it has been accepted by our Product and Development team for future implementation. However, Quicken's product development teams do not provide an estimate of when new/enhanced features will be completed and released.
How about different color highlights depending on category, or taxable vs non-taxable, or by a list of names, or by recurring vs non-recurring payments
From Joan C
#1 - I, too, would very much like the ability to highlight a transaction so I would have an easier way to keep sections visually separated.
Since there are already register colors available, it doesn't seem like it would be too hard to extend that possibility to transactions as well.
#2 - Lately, I've had a lot of trouble with entries suddenly appearing in no-longer used accounts even though they had been originally posted in the proper accounts. That raises havoc with balances and requires a lot of time to locate where and how much has been transferred to wrong accounts.
It would be great if you could allow "register preferences" to apply to a single entry. In that way I can find entries such as a balance adjustment easily by scanning for color or font size.
Hello @Elmo Deek,
Your idea has been merged into this already active Idea thread regarding the same request.
Something I always wanted to ask … and never got a round tuit …
When the status of an Idea is changed to "Planned", might it be possible to keep the Voting enabled? It takes a very long time for a "Planned idea" to become implemented, if at all. While we're waiting for that to happen, without the vote count allowing recent votes to be added, we can never really see the true importance of an idea to the user community.
What do you think? Can we keep voting enabled for a Planned Idea?
Thanks for listening, UKR
Hello,
This might already be a feature but the only word I can think of to search for it is "Highlight" and nothing came up.
Is it at all possible to highlight (or even flag) any transaction? For example, especially during the holiday season, I'd like to have the ability to highlight the payment(s) for item(s) that I end up returning so that I can more easily track that it was refunded. With this feature, for example, I'd be able to highlight (or flag) a $72.49 returned item Payment in red and then the red highlight go back to no highlight (or flag) once that corresponding $72.49 payment is refunded. That way, I can scroll down any account or credit card or All Transatcions (or whatever else) at any time (or even sort by Highlight or flag?) and look for red highlights that have not been Deposit(ed) back yet. If I don't see red, that means they've all been accounted for as refunded! If there is already another way to do something like this, please let me know.
Thank you! Pat

You're not missing anything; there is no current feature like what you're describing. The (somewhat) good news is that there is an existing Idea request for this functionality, and the developers have marked it as "Planned" for future implementation:
As always, we never know when a particular "Planned" feature will actually be designed, implemented and released.
Meanwhile, you might consider creating a Tag for "Pending Refund" or something similar, and adding/removing that Tag to transactions as appropriate. This isn't is visible as a transaction in red, but it doesn't give you a way to search for the tag and find matching transactions.
I vote for adding the ability to highlight transactions as has been a feature in Quicken WIN for years. C'mon Mac development team - get it done! Please!
@tshep538 This Idea topic is marked as "Planned" by the developers, which puts it ahead of 90+% of the other Idea topics in the forum. 😉 But there are about three dozen marked "Planned", and many of those deal with adding things which cannot be done at all in Quicken Mac as opposed to enhancements (like this one) which would make the software better/easier to use. The order these things get scheduled and completed is, as always, unknown. Part of it is that different features require developers with different specialties (database operations, printing, screen user interface, connectivity, etc.), so it sometimes comes down to when a particular programmer who is a UI expert has time allowed for an project like this. At least we know the developers agree this is a desirable feature and plan to add it.
Thank you for the update, Jacobs. Appears the earlier comment in this thread is circa 2020. Getting a little long in the tooth, as they say.
