How to add the split transaction icon to a new account register

I added a new credit card 2 weeks ago. I cannot find a setting to add the 'split transaction icon' to the register. Previously set up account registers still show the icon.

Click on the gear at the top right of the register, select Register columns, then check the Action buttons box.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my (now embarrassingly) uninformed question. The Quicken provided support could be better at documenting what these terms are classified as & where to find their settings. I did try to find the answer there before bothering this community.. Thanks again!

In the Register Column, the Balance button must be checked in order for the Split Transaction button to appear.

just curious how or why you intend to use the Split action for your CC transactions ?

    click on existing Transaction - Right-Click - Split - or the CTRL-S

Have you never gone to Walmart (or similar) and bought some groceries and some clothing in the same transaction? I know when I do, I want to make it a split.

My grocery is also where I buy beer, pharmacy, kitchen utensils, reading materials and more. Additionally, since my state doesn't have an Income tax I deduct my sales taxes on my IRS 1040 … and thus Sales Tax is another line of the splits.

Interesting - guess we haven't really needed to split things out per store site visit -
will have to consider it for Amazon and other packages - along with Walmart/Costco shopping, etc -
