Just upgraded to Quicken 2022 from 2013. During install I was prompted to log into my Quicken account before it updated my data to new format. couple of questions. Has it stored my data outside of my computer (I know I have the new data stored local)? Am I logged into my account every time I run the program? As you can see I'm concerned about privacy

Hello @Richb44,
Thank you for contacting the Community with this question, I understand your concern for privacy.
All of your Quicken Data is stored on your computer locally by default. Quicken does not hold any of your data, this includes account information, passwords, and so on.
Yes, you will need to be logged in by your Quicken ID in order to access the file, however, if that is a concern for you then you can add a data file password which will be required each time you open the Quicken application.
Here is a link to a support article that discusses how to add a password to your data file.
I hope this helps.

Why did you upgrade from Quicken 2013?
What features are you looking to use?
Depending on what you use, some of your data will be stored on servers.

I do not intend to renew my subscription, so what happens when my subscription expires and I do not renew. Will I still be able to access my data? I really do not like either option you stated.0

If you intend to do only manual updating, then I strongly suggest that you go back to Quicken 2013 and get a refund for Quicken Subscription. Quicken 2013 is the ideal version for people that are doing only manual entry. It is the last version before the Quicken Id was imposed.
You will be able to use Quicken Deluxe (and above) Subscription after the subscription lapses for manual entry, but about 20% of the screen will be taken up by an ad for you to renew it.Signature:

I just went into quicken and it went right in and opened my data file without me entering my account username and password, Does this mean that my user/password is stored in the program and i am logged in or that your first statement is incorrect. Is there a way I can tell if I am logged in?0

Chris - I will only be doing manual data input, no auto down load of data. Only upgraded because it was 8 years old and thought it was time. Is there no real improvements from 2013 to 2022 that warrents my upgrade?0

Note: Quicken 2013 was introduced in the fall of 2012 - nine and a half years ago.0 -
I defy anyone to name a change to Quicken since 2013 for manual input that would fall into the category of "minor change".Signature:

P.S. But don't take my word for it, you have 30 days to get a refund. You try Quicken Subscription for a bit and see what you think. Note that you will have to re-enter the data if you switch back to Quicken 2013 (you will need to go back to the data file you were using in Quicken 2013 before the conversion).Signature:
