how to generate a report categorized by (or based on) MEMO field

i want to show a report summarizing all transactions with a memo "hawaii 2019". 'memo" doesn't appear to be a valid report subject.
tags would suit the purpose. so, alternatively, i would like to search for all transactions with the desired memo, and ADD the tag "hawaii 2019". most of these transactions are already tagged for other purposes, so search/replace would not work.

@xtexan,
You might try the Banking > Banking Transactions report. Set the date range as needed. Click on the gear at the top right and select the Categories tab. Select Include only transaction with selected Categories. In the Memo contains: box at the right, enter your search term, hawaii 2019.
This should produce a report that has all the transactions for the selected date range with your term in the Memo field.
Unfortunately there is no way to append a tag to the selected transactions, but you can double click on the transactions one at a time and add the appropriate tag. You can speed this up by using Ctrl-C to copy the tag and Ctrl-V to paste it to each transaction.QWin Premier subscription0 -
A quick way to find all transactions with a common phrase is the All Transactions register.
You can access the All Transactions register from the link at the top of the Account Bar.
In the All Transactions register, filter for the relevant date range and type or paste the search phrase in the Search field.
