matching transactions

how do I manually match a transaction from one account to another?

Elaborate. As stated, I dont understand.
Q user since February, 1990. DOS Version 4
Now running Quicken Windows Subscription, Business & Personal
Retired "Certified Information Systems Auditor" & Bank Audit VP-1 -
usually, quicken asks you "Is this the same transaction as … "
if he doesn't detect it how can i tell hin that its same transaction as another account

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Are you asking how to mark something as a transfer between two accounts (eg using a checking account to pay a credit card, both of which are accounts tracked in Quicken)?

Change the category of the "new" transaction to be the account of the other transaction in square brackets ( [checking] as an example) and see if Quicken then asks "Is this the same transaction as … ".
