Auto-categorize a quicken transaction based on the first part of the payee name: documentation bug
Hello, I want to auto-categorize a quicken transaction based on the first part of the payee name.
The following screenshot in the Quicken help for my Windows product claims that there is a drop down which allows you to match a payee if the name contains certain characters:
Unfortunately these docs are out of sync with the actual user interface; there is no drop-down:
And we have an old post that shows that the user interface that shows that the second prompt in the above screenshot (which says "Quicken will rename the downloaded payee") is uber-deceptive: that second prompt should say "If the payee name contains".

I also find it disheartening that your trained staff has no idea that payees with a similar name can all be auto-categorized: the person I spoke with today thought the payee names had to be the same and her manager did as well.

In reality what should happen is that the dialog should be fixed to have the pulldown menu that the documentation says is there (like it used to be a long time ago), and make the documents properly align with this.
It is very inconvenient to first create a rule and then come back and edit for this setting:
