Should I get Quicken US or Canada?
I have been using an old version of Quicken US. I recently moved to Canada and am wondering whether I'm better off to get a subscription to the US version or the Canadian version. I have bank accounts in both countries, use both currencies and file taxes in both countries. Most of my transactions now occur in my Canadian accounts, so it would be helpful to be able to download them from my Canadian bank. If I got Quicken Canada, would I be able to open a backup of my old US file or would I have to set everything up from scratch?

I'm reasonably certain (without really "knowing") that there's no need to start from scratch. It's a not uncommon occurrence that someone might pick up a "foreign" account in the course of their life a certainly the implication in Quicken Help about using foreign currency is that you can start using that feature at any time:
The "sticking point" here is that there are two separate lists - United States / Canada - of financial institutions that support downloads into Quicken so unless a financial institution is on both lists you will have to enter transactions without online downloading availability some other way.

Meanwhile, there is a plan to eventually merge the access by the US and CA versions, though the timeline is unknown:
