A couple bugs and some requests

Greetings Quicken team. I've been using Quicken for decade and recently upgraded to the latest version. So far I've run into the following issues:

  • Stop turning on global Windows setting "Smooth edges of screen fonts" when Quicken is launched.
  • When View, Tabs to show, has all selections unchecked, hide the tab bar (and stop auto-adding things to it).
  • Allow hiding of the totals bar (Transactions, Current Balance, Ending Balance) at the bottom of the register.
  • Allow hiding of the Search and Filter bar at the top of the register.
  • When "Reminders to show in register" is set to "Don't show reminders", hide the "Bill and Income Reminders" bar at the bottom of the register.
  • Select an investment account configured for Complete tracking so that the register / transaction history shows. Click the options gear and select "Investment preferences". The Preferences window comes up with a blank right window and the option under "Alerts & Messages" in the Select preference type list is "Register". Do various other things in Quicken and keep going back to "Investment preferences". Eventually the Preferences will correctly display the Investment Preferences (with the correct entry in the list on the left, instead of only the "Register" entry). Note that using Customize Action Bar to add an "Investment preferences" button (gear icon) to the bar does not help (opens the same empty right side Preferences window, at least most of the time).
  • Customize Action Bar dialog: Double clicking on an entry on the left adds the button (correct behavior). Double clicking an existing button on the right does not remove it (missing event handler).
  • When a loan account is selected in the Accounts list, return to the last viewed tab (it is opening to Loan Details every time I launch Quicken, requiring me to click Payment Details to view the registry). If this is difficult for some reason, add a preference to select a default/initial loan tab.
  • Normally (ex: savings, checking, and credit card accounts) the green Reset button on the search and filter bar appears only after searching / filtering has been performed. On Loans (at least Offline Loans), select account, click Payment Details to view register, and the green Reset button is displayed initially, even though no searching / filtering has been performed. Note to developers: This may be related to the additional item displayed for these accounts (the show / hide graph checkbox).

Thank you!

    Hello @LJ_dev,

To submit an official feature request, what you can do is create an idea post. This way other users who have the same or a similar request can vote on your idea.

Also, for tracking purposes, please be sure to create separate Idea posts for each different feature request.

Our Development and Product teams frequently use our idea posts in order to improve Quicken and implement new features requested by customers.

    Thank you!

To make sure that it clear, one idea to a post. Don't put a bunch of ideas together.
