I have 2 different Quicken IDs under 2 different email addresses - how to consolidate (edit)

I want to consolidate my IDs into one, of MY Choosing.

This requires some intervention, I believe. Can anyone help since quicken support seems to be hard to reach?

Are you just trying to get all the data files under one Quicken Id?

As far as I know you can't "consolidate" them and get any kind of credit for the time remaining on one of the subscriptions.

The issue is that I have my quicken File and subscriptions etc under one quicken ID (email address) and I am getting rid of that email address. I have a quicken id under my new email address. I want to move it all to the new one.

BTW, you should have been able to change the email address of the existing account, but since you have created a second QID with the new email address, it can't be done now. Hopefully the moderators will be able to get you changed without too much trouble.

    Hello @LeeL,

For security reasons, we're not able to change the Quicken ID on file for you. I can give you directions on changing it yourself though.

First, based on your earlier post, you already created a new Quicken ID with the email you want to use. That is going to prevent you from being able to set that as the new Quicken ID for your existing account. You have two options to get past this issue.

    1. If you have another email you can use that is not already tied to a Quicken ID, you can change your existing Quicken ID to that other email.
    2. If you need to use that specific email, then you will first need to change the Quicken ID it is associated with to something else (so that you can free up that email address), then change the Quicken ID your subscription is associated with to the email you are wanting to use.

To change your Quicken ID, go to Quicken.com, hover your mouse over the Sign In, then click the Sign in button under My Account.

Login using the Quicken ID you want to change. Once you are logged in, it will bring you to a screen that looks like the sample image below.

Click the Sign In & Security box. It will bring you to a screen that allows you to change your Quicken ID, Phone number, Password, or the way you receive Security Codes.

You will want to click on the blue Change link directly under Quicken ID, and it will bring up the Change Quicken ID screen. It will display your current Quicken ID, and will have it pre-filled into the New Quicken ID box. Change the email in the New Quicken ID box to be the email you want to use as your new Quicken ID, put your current password into the Current Password box, and click Submit. You will need to complete the multi-factor authentication (a code should be sent via text or email, depending on which preference you have selected). Once that is completed, your Quicken ID should be changed to the new email.

Note - Once your Quicken ID is changed, you may need to log out of your Quicken program and log back in again using the new Quicken ID. To logout, go to Edit>Preferences>Quicken ID & Cloud Accounts, click the blue Sign in as a different user link, type "yes" in the textbox, then click the Sign Out button. Once it logs you out, you'll be brought back to the login screen and will be able to login using the updated Quicken ID. You should also receive a prompt to associate your data file with the new ID.

    I hope this helps!

Since I can't see what your email address is, this information may not be relevant.

IF you are using a gmail account, you can add "+sometext" to your email address to make it different to Quicken. Google allows this so that all of the emails show up in the same email box, so joe@gmail.com and joe+1@gmail.com and joe+work@gmail.com all go to joe@gmail.com but appear to be different to a program like Quicken.

Doing what I have described above allows you to change the email address on the newer account to something that is still legitimate but doesn't require you to create a completely different email address.
