Having same issue with a closed discussion - it is still a problem
I am having the same issue that was reported back on May 3 by RobUser. It appears NotACPA could not recreate it and closed the discussion however, I am experiencing the same issue.
When I update a transaction's category, it appears the next line is either updated or a new duplicate line is inserted. When I delete the duplicate line, both lines are removed.

Just to correct an incorrect statement, ONLY moderators of this forum can close a thread and their screen names all start with "Quicken".
NotACPA is just a superuser and NOT a moderator, and only reported that he was not able to reproduce the issue, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Since I chased it down, this appears to be the original post referred to:
No doubt it closed because @NotACPA asked a follow-up question and never got a response. Moderators close such posts after the questions are left hanging for some time.
The problem would appear to me to be some form of graphics issue - given that Step 5 - exiting and re-entering the the account clears the issue. Those can be extremely tricky to identify given the range of computer setups and program setting possible. It is clearly not an issue that impacts all users.
