Error connecting to Schwab Equity Awards Account

I have been downloading transactions from my Schwab Equity Awards Account for the past 4 years, but about 45 days ago, I started receiving an error message. Quicken thinks that the Schwab account has been deleted even though it hasn't. I have deactivated the connection and reconnected and I have tried adding the account again but with no success. I am able to see my accounts through the Schwab portal using the same Login and Password that Quicken is using.

Any ideas?

  • Hello @tpetersen,

To help troubleshoot this issue, please provide more information. What is the exact error message/code that you are seeing? If possible, please provide a screenshot of the error, as it shows in Quicken (please make sure to redact any personal information). If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.

I look forward to your response!

I've been having the same problem. I put details into another thread - it seems like the Schwab interactions have been generally unreliable for a little while now.

    Attached is a screenshot.

    Nothing has been deleted.

  • Thank you for your reply,

To start troubleshooting this issue, I recommend that you backup your Quicken file, then follow these troubleshooting directions from this article on CC-800 errors. It is similar to what you've already done, but with the added step of checking for hidden accounts.

First, you'll need to deactivate the affected accounts:

    1. Select Tools Account List
    2. If present, select the Show Hidden Accounts checkbox at the bottom of the Account List
    3. Select Edit on each account with this error and Deactivate them on the Online Services tab
    4. When finished, close the Account List.

    Second, reactivate the accounts:

    1. Select Tools Add Account
    2. Go through the flow of re-adding the deactivated accounts to Quicken, use your login credentials and answer any security questions, until you reach the screen where Quicken displays the Accounts Discovered at the financial institution
    3. Select to LINK each of the found accounts to the accounts you already have set up in Quicken. For accounts you don't want to link, select Don't add to Quicken

Please let me know how it goes!

Thanks Kristina. This fixed my problem with Schwab.

Although now I'm experiencing the 'Citibank - Your Request Has Failed' problem that has been identified on a separate thread.

  • Thank you for the follow-up,

I'm glad to hear the issue is resolved.

For the Citibank issue, I recommend following this Community Alert to get any updates, once available, and know when the issue is resolved. If you do not see the bookmark icon at the upper right, please make sure you are logged into the Community.

Depending on the account type, you may be able to use Direct Connect (Citi credit cards only) or Web Connect to download transactions while waiting for the issue to be resolved. Please see this post for more information:

    Thank you!
