    Unfortunately, the subtotal function can only be accessed through a gear which only appears when Tabs are shown. I never use Tabs.

    Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, now using QWin Biz & Personal Subscription (US) on Win10 Pro.

    And no, you don't select this from a gear icon. You can hover over the "section" like "Banking" or right click on the account bar to turn on the sub-totals (Show sub-group totals → Show sub-group totals in account bar).

    There are other things that appear when tabs are shown. What I'm talking about is in the image below.

    In R60.14, if the tabs and thus the selection gear are displayed, you can select either or both ways of displaying the subtotals, or disable the subtotal display. The setting is remembered if you then hide the tabs.
