Cannot Set Up Online Billing in Bill Manager for Amtrak Rewards Card (First National Bank of Omaha)

Quicken Windows Subscription Member, Windows Beta Beta

I recently opened an Amtrak Rewards Mastercard with FNBO. I was able to set this up in Quicken for downloading transactions into Quicken, however when I try to set up an online bill with FNBO to pay the bill, it says that the username/password credentials are incorrect even though they are not.

I see this was reported here not so long ago and it was closed without being resolved.

@noboat1 Are you also talking about FNB Omaha? If not, your reply doesn't belong in this thread … please start your own thread.

    @BarryGraham

Looking in FIDIR.TXT, which records all of the connections between Q and the FIs, I see two entries for FNBO. Which are you using?

    First National Bank Omaha https://www.fnbo.com 1-877-932-3626 https://www.fnbo.com ACTIVE BANKING,CREDIT&WEB-CONNECT BANKING,CREDIT,ACCOUNTINFO&EXP-WEB-CONNECT NOT_QBP NA
    05624 05624 05624

First National Bank Omaha DC https://www.fnbo.com 1-877-932-3626 https://auth.securebanklogin.com?brand=fnbo ACTIVE BANKING,CREDIT,ACCOUNTINFO&DIRECT

If you're unsure, you can do TOOLS, Account List and look in the "Financial Institution" column. If that column isn't visible, it can be added via the Options button at the bottom of the dialog. And what's shown in the "Transaction Download" column for your FNBO account(s)?

Also, does your ID or password contain any special characters? IF SO, which? SOME aren't allowed for Express Web Connect (but are fine with the other 2 connection methods) because they interfere with the web protocol used.

Thank you. This is for Bill Manager. Your answer relates to downloading transactions, not to Bill Manager. I found that FNBO Direct as the Biller does authenticate properly. If I log in to fnbodirect.com it takes me to the same website as fnbo.com, the one that doesn't work with Bill Manager.

Update: it's not showing the bill even though the bill has been available for a few days.

IMHO, Bill Manager does not work reliably enough to make it useful. Sorry.

    Hello @BarryGraham,

I went ahead and checked the internal status of this Online Biller and unfortunately, it shows a degraded status which is why it will fail to connect at this time. We do not have an ETA on when this degraded status will be resolved.

We apologize for any inconvenience in the meantime! Thank you.

Hi @Quicken Anja there are two billers available. How about the other one (First National Bank of Omaha)? It's a different URL.

    Thanks for your response!

Upon checking the status, First National Bank of Omaha is showing as Healthy. However, please note that it currently has a 2% error rate.

You can go ahead and attempt to connect, and if you run into any issues, feel free to reach out again—we’re happy to help!

    Thank you!

@Quicken Anja this biller is rejecting my login credentials even though I am entering them incorrecly. I don't think it's connecting to the website that it's supposed to be connecting to (www.fnbo.com) because I can log in correctly at www.fnbo.com although it does redirect to https://www.card.fnbo.com/

I am also able to download transactions from the FNBO FI.

Also note that the Biller Amtrak Guest Rewards (which is what this card is) is pointing to Chase bank instead of FNBO.

@BarryGraham Thank you for following up!

I too noticed that when looking up Amtrak Guest Rewards, it defaults to Chase Bank. Regarding FNBO Direct and First National Bank of Omaha, here’s what I found when reviewing your account internally: FNBO Direct shows as Pending, while First National Bank of Omaha previously showed Syncing with a note stating "no accounts found." However, that instance no longer appears in your account today—only FNBO Direct remains.

Have you tried reaching out to the financial institution to confirm which instance is the correct one to use? It’s recommended to ask for a Tier 2 agent or supervisor, as they are typically more familiar with third-party programs like Quicken.

    Thank you!

    Hi @Quicken Anja

Both First National Bank of Omaha and FNBO Direct allow me to log in with the same credentials when I use them to download my credit card transactions, and both of them work properly.

I think that for the Bill Manager, First National Bank of Omaha is pointing to a completely different website since it rejects the same credentials that I use to download, as well as the same credentials that I use to set up the Bill Manager with FNBO Direct (even though I can't actually download bills from FNBO Direct I can at least authenticate.

Can you please let me know which website First National Bank of Omaha is try to connect to when using Bill Manager?

Thank you for your reply @BarryGraham,

To answer your question, Bill Manager sees www.fnbo.com for the biller's website, when you select the First National Bank of Omaha option.

There is a FNBO Direct option as well, which sees www.fnbodirect.com, however, our internal tools show that connection is Degraded (meaning the majority of customers cannot connect that online biller in their Quicken).

    I hope this helps!

Hi @Quicken Kristina, I wonder if it should be pointing to www.fnbo.com because that site doesn't have a login page. Could that be why the credentials are failing. If you visit that web site, there are a number of different sites you can pick

If you click the login button when "Online Banking" is selected, as shown above, it takes you to

    https://auth.securebanklogin.com/?brand=fnbo

and I believe this is the site that First National Bank of Omaha should be pointing to, or maybe https://www.transaction.card.fnbo.com which is where you are taken after logging in.
