Activation code

I need to install the 2017 Delux version on a new computer, but can't find the activation code, so I can't install without it. Any thoughts on where that 16 digit code might be hiding beyond the booklet, etc ?

    I never and never will purchase a subscription. I purchased the software years ago and have a disk, just can't locate the code.

    You can't locate the code because there never was an "activation code" before Quicken Subscription.

    The "InstallationID" was a code created by the Intuit server (which no longer exists) when you logged into Quicken with your Intuit Id.

    OK, this isn't "common", but some people have talked about having a code for installing older versions of Quicken. Again, this wouldn't be an "activation code", it was instead some kind of "install code".

    The reason no one here jumps assumes that there is an install code is because all the retail purchases of the old Quicken didn't have it. But clearly it exists. So, maybe it has something to do with how Quicken was purchased. I don't know exactly.

    But this puts up an extra barrier to you getting it installed. No one is going to be able to provide that install code if you lost it.

    And the reason that you got pointed to the article on my web site is because of a different barrier that started about a year or two ago.

    Once installed, there is also the step of logging in with the Quicken Id (which started with the Intuit Id in Quicken 2014, and was changed to a Quicken Id after Quicken Inc took over). And that is now failing for versions of Quicken before Quicken Subscription. The workaround is transferring the Quicken.ini file from the old machine, but ONLY after you have actually installed Quicken.

    BTW it would be my guess that the install code isn't hiding anywhere on the old machine. It would be a code put in the install itself, and unless you can hack the install to find it (which I assume would be encrypted in some way) there isn't any way to retrieve it.

    @BeadLady56 See this URL: QW2015-17 install-QPW

    Just installing QW2017 on a new computer is not possible without doing what is described in the referenced URL since the registration servers for any version of Quicken before Subscription (2018-US, 2017-Cdn) no longer exist.

    Thank you and I understand, but was just wondering if that number is hidden someplace for me to find it. I can always install from an external drive using the disk, but still need the activation code. I have zero plans to e er use their subscription options.

    If the information in the URL that I cited didn't help, you are out of luck. BTW, you ONLY bought a license to use the software, you didn't buy it, it would have cost millions of $ or more to purchase the software.

    I have had the disk since 2017 and have had to reinstall the software on at least 3 computers. Each time, at one point I was asked to enter a 16 digit code that was on the booklet originally provided. Unfortunately, between installations and moves, I can't locate the booklet nor the number, which is what I'm directed to do in order to complete the installation. I was hoping g it. Might be hiding some place, but can't seem to get to that spot. I appreciate the effort at trying to help.

    And to the person who felt they needed to educate me on what I did or not purchase, duh. I am fully aware what I purchased and what I paid for and what is referred to when saying one purchases the software. No need for condescending childish remarks.
