Why are OneStep Update no longer working for retail credits cards?

Ever since the last update (R61.20) One Step Update for all of my retail credit cards has stopped working. Stores that no longer work include Kohl's, Lowe's, Home Depot, Crate and Barrel, and Pottery Barn.

Hello @Richard_Dill,
To help troubleshoot this, are you seeing any error messages/codes? If not, then what is happening when you try to update your accounts?
If you are seeing CC-502 errors with some of the accounts you listed, please be aware that there are a couple known issues. See the alerts below for more details:
I look forward to your response!

What actual banks issued those cards? The merchants you named aren't banks, and only a bank can issue a credit card … although some of those merchants MAY have set up a "bank subsidiary".
The name of the issuing bank(s) should be somewhere on the back of the card.
BTW, my Chase, US Bank and BarclayBank US retail cards are working fine.

I am aware that banks are the issuing entity. However, my bank accounts other credit cards issued by the same banks continue to work.
Synchrony issued the Crate and Barrel card which doesn't download and also issued an Amazon Store Card which is still working.
Capital One issued the Kohl's and Pottery Barn cards which don't download and also a CapitalOne card that continues to work.
Citi issued the Home Depot card which doesn't download and also the Costco card which continues to work.
All of these accounts were updating before the last update, so I suspect Intuit broke something. I just want it fixed so I can keep my accounts up to date.

Using the search box at the top of the forum's 1st page, look for those banks. ALL have current reported problems.
It's the banks, not Q. Why would a Q update only impact a very few banks among the 1000's (and none of mine) that issue cards?

No need to be snarky. It was a simple question, Since the issue occurred right after the Quicken update it seemed related to the issue.

i have only one retail card I use frequently. It's the Target Red Card and it's not downloading transaction since the last update. The error message says that it's a Quicken server problem and not the bank's problem.

Different banks, same issue leads me to believe it is an Intuit issue and not the banks.

Are you downloading your Kohl's card from credit.Kohls.com or from CapOne?
I have been downloading from credit.Kohls.com but two days ago I started getting a CC-503 error code. Today I tried logging into my online Kohl's store card account and got the following error message. I am supposed to receive my new CapOne Kohl's card later this week but for me, at least, it seems that Kohl's might have jumped the gun a bit and cut off my Kohl's store card access a little too early.

I made the switch to Capital One and Kohl's is working. Thank you…
Still can't get Macy's (American Express) or Crate and Barrel (Synchrony Bank) to work. Both are returning CC-503 error but I am certain the login credentials are correct.

A few days back I had gotten an CC-5XX error code (can't remember which one) with my Macy's/Amex card. Have you tried doing the following (in the order shown)? I did one of these things (I think it was #2) to get my downloads working, again.:
- Account Register > upper right Gear icon > Update Now: This will sometimes work when OSU fails.
- If #1 fails: Enter/save the Opening Balance transaction dollar amount into the Memo field of that transaction > Backup the data file > Account Register > upper right Gear icon > Edit Account Details > Online Services tab > Reset Account.
- If #2 fails: Account Register > upper right Gear icon > Edit Account Details > Online Services tab > Deactivate > Set Up Now > if/when prompted, be sure to LINK the download to the accounts that are already in Quicken.
The reason for saving the Opening Balance transaction dollar amount into the Memo field beforehand is that sometimes when making a change to the connection method of an account (i.e., Reset Account, Deactivate/Set Up Now, Add Account, etc.) the dollar amount of the that transaction will get changed. By entering/saving that dollar amount into the Memo field before updating/changing the connection method it makes it very easy to identify and correct this issue should it occur.
You might also want to try these steps with your Synchrony Bank cards. But if #1 nor #2 do not resolve the CC-503 issue, then before proceeding to #3 make sure to deactivate all of your Synchrony accounts before doing Set Up Now or Add Account.

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried Update Now and Rest without success. After deactivating is when the CC-503 error started when trying to add the One Step connection back. The response from Intuit (see above) seems to point to an issue on Intuit end.

@Richard_Dill - Something I just thought of regarding the Macy's/Amex card: Are you trying to connect with the Macy's link in Add Account or with an Amex link or a Citi link (Citi actually manages this store card)? It needs to be connected with the Macy's link, not with Amex or Citi.

I am using the Macy's link without success. At this point I am just going to wait until Intuit and the bank sorts it out. Will be doing manual update for now.
