cannot enter tag for a split transaction (on Q Mobile)

I cannot enter a tag for a split transaction on Quicken Mobile iOS v7.6.0.

I have a manual-entry credit card account, which I sync to Quicken Mobile. Here are the steps to reproduce the issue:

  • on Quicken Mobile, click Add Transaction
  • enter an amount, like $30
  • choose a (manual-entry) credit card account
  • choose an existing Payee
  • click Split
  • on the first split line, choose an existing Category
  • choose an existing Tag
  • click Apply
  • you are taken back to the Add Transaction screen, but the Tag is not shown (the Tags field remains empty)
  • repeated attempts to add the Tag also fail to add it

    Hello @Q97,

    That sounds like a frustrating issue. I attempted to replicate the issue, following the instructions you posted, but I wasn't able to replicate it. I tapped the Add Transaction from the main screen on logging into the app (on an iPhone) and created a split transaction with tags.

    After saving the split transaction, I navigated to the manual credit card account to check the transaction. When I tap to see the transaction details, the tags show up.

    Could you please provide more detail? What screen are you looking at where the tag isn't showing? Is the tag failing to show up in the app, in the desktop version (once synced with the cloud) or both? Does this happen with all tags, or only some? If possible, could you please post a screenshot of what you're seeing when the tag goes missing? If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.

    Thank you for your reply @Quicken Kristina. I experimented some more, and I think I’ve narrowed down the issue. In the Tags selection pop up, if I scroll down the list to select the tag, it works fine.

    However, if I use the Search at the top of the Tags selection pop up to filter the tag list, and then select from the filtered list, the tag is not brought back to the main screen when I click Apply. This issue only occurs when within a split transaction.

    With that additional information, I was able to replicate the issue.
