@Geobrick Good idea. Note, I mentioned one of my Fidelity (brokerage) did not gave the Cash options present.

I certainly wouldn't advise anyone to rely on EWC yet.

I was just happy some progress seemed to have been made. I haven't seen any updates from Quicken stating they made any changes or progress.

I switched to the EWC connection, and everything is working fine, except that downloads from PNC Bank are delayed by at least 48 hours.

Cash Representation and Reset Money Market selections are still not showing for my accounts that have FDRXX as the core MMF.

For those accounts, Cash Balance is show as $0.00 from Fidelity and FDRXX is shown as a separate security in the Online Center instead of being treated as the Cash Balance.

I mentioned, my Fidelity Brokerage account is still missing the "Reset Money …." and "Cash Repre…." buttons, and iFidelity uses FZFXX, So I guess FDRXX and FZFXX are both not working. I think my Roth and IRA were using a Sweep account FDIC99334.

If y'all don't already, here are a couple of links discussing, and updating, this entire issue between Q & Fidelity being discussed in detail. The one that allows comments is 37 pages long; the other is just updates from Q with no comments allowed. My suggestion is start on page 34 or 35 and read to the end because a lot is repeated.

As someone else noted in this thread:

"I'll also add that if anybody is able to revert to a back-up with the zzz-Fidelity Investments - DC direct connect connection it may well be worth it for you. I have not converted and everything is downloading and tracking just fine. (64.30) I won't be changing until I am forced to."

I second that. I'm still happily using DC to connect and haven't been forced to change over yet. I developed a habit 25+ years ago to always make a dated backup whenever I exit Q. With this whole fiasco, I do my day's work in Q to get all accounts up to date, then produce a dated backup in a known folder, quit Q and then go back into it. THEN I start messing with major changes, similar to this whole fiasco. If it doesn't work out, I just quit Q, find my last dated backup, move it to my working folder and rename it to qdata.QDF after renaming the failed qdata.qdf. Then, double click the renamed, previously backed up .qdf and it opens Q, in untouched fashion. Voila! Wait another 2 weeks and try again….

Slight difference in how transactions are processed in EWC+ vs DC:

    EWC+

    image.png

The Dividend received "Compagnine" recorded as deposit with no category.

THIS is WRONG and needs to be fixed ASAP. Not recording as Category _DivInc will cause lots of errors in Tax reports.

    image.png

The DC Downloaded transactions showed Div in the action field for these two items and processed correctly.

I have been using SPAXX for Fidelity CMA and Brokerage accounts and FDRXX for IRA and Roth IRA accounts as CORE with no problems. All accounts show "Reset Money Market securities/cash options".

I have been using SPAXX for Fidelity CMA and Brokerage accounts and FDRXX for IRA and Roth IRA accounts as CORE with no problems. All accounts show "Reset Money Market securities/cash options".

I had the same problem when I converted to EWC +. I had multiple Money Markets in my Brokerage and IRA accounts. I sold the non CORE MM's. All accounts balanced and show "Reset Money Market securities/cash options".

Good to know. My Quicken is having issues with FDRXX in a non-IRA account. That may be a clue.

It's been a couple of weeks since I last posted about Fidelity EWC+ in my test files. At that time I'd reported that 6 of my 9 Fidelity accounts (including for brokered CDs) were correctly downloading transactions and their Core Account MMFs were being correctly reported as Cash Balance and not as Shares. As of today this is still the case….over 2 wks of trouble-free EWC+ downloading.

The other 3 accounts were having multiple issues but only with regard to Core Accounts, not with regard to other investment account transactions. Following is the current status of these 3 accounts.:

    • Rollover IRA: FZDXX, which is not a Core Account option, was being identified as the Core Account for this account. As of a week ago, this is no longer an issue. However, FDRXX, which is the Core Account MMF for this account, is being downloaded as Shares and not as Cash Balance…but the total account value is correct. In addition, there is no option to reset the Core Account for this account.
    • Roth IRA: The same situation and status as with the Rollover IRA.
    • Managed Rollover IRA: This account uses QIWSQ FDIC insured bank Sweep as the Core Account. Until today the issue has been that Quicken did not recognize QIWSC as the Core Account. To my pleasant surprise, this morning I was prompted to decide how QIWSC is to be shown in Quicken….as Shares(?) or as Cash Balance(?) I selected Cash Balance and quicken removed all by 71.8 shares of it and the Cash Balance was updated to show a discrepancy of $71.80. I could not Sell the 71.8 shares or QIWSC because Quicken showed no holdings of it so I entered a Remove Shares transaction for the 71.8 shares then Quicken showed the correct Core Account shares balance of 0.000. I also could not reconcile the cash balance in the account register so I entered a balancing adjustment for $71.8. Now this account is fully balanced on shares and cash. I am cautiously hopeful that this account is now no longer an issue with EWC+

It appears to me that Fidelity & Quicken are now getting very close to resolution of the issues with EWC+.

@Boatnmaniac - Your experience with the Managed funds is similar to mine a day ago in my two ROTHs. Except some of the downloaded transactions I described in post above are marked as Deposits without any category in EWC+ and downloaded correctly in the DC file as Div and post with correct category of " _DivInc".

In both my EWC+ and DC files the _DivInc and _IntInc transactions were downloaded correctly.

There's been a lot of improvement but issues still remain and there is a lot of inconsistency between various users experiences.

For me, _DivInc is reported correctly for IRA accounts but for the other accounts they are treated as deposits with no assigned security.

@leishirsute Thanks for confirming I am not the only one getting Dividend downloads reported as Deposits instead if Div in the EWC+ connection. This happens in my Managed Roths but not for every dividend, just some?

I just sorted one of my Roths by the Activity and see in my EWC+ file I have some work ahead of me to correct several older Deposits into Div. These deposits recorded as a blank category. I will have to edit each on, change to DIV and assign the correct security.

Mine are occurring in non-IRA accounts and it is only for some Div. I'm not positive, but it looks like it's dividends from securities that are not Fidelity's own that are treated as deposits. The amounts are correct but the lack of the proper Action=Div messes up the Tax Planner data. The aggravation is that the dividend descriptions are truncated and sometimes the security names have the same prefix so that the description is useless.

Upon further review, it appears the incorrect EWC+ Deposit transactions that should have been recorded as DIV are associated with Non-US Stocks. Again this works correctly on DC connected file.

@leishirsute - are you seeing historical prices being updated for your non-us stocks with DC? (I am getting transaction updates in DC but not prices). No international stocks/funds are updating for me using EWC+.

Like others in this Community Forum, I have experienced repeated failures and defects when trying to connect to Fidelity and download transactions. My ability to connect to Fidelity through Quicken stopped completely about two weeks ago. I followed the process recommended in Quicken's latest email and that still did not work. I have tried to fix the accounts and even add the accounts as new.

I have Quicken Classic Deluxe. The file is local and not in the cloud. The connection process starts with the window to Sign In. I need to "use the bank hosted sign-in form to authorize downloads. Select Sign in to authenticate via your web browser." I can access the account in the browser and approve the user agreement. I can see my list of accounts, select them, and click approve. Every time afterwards, it takes me back to Quicken where I am told the Sign in to Fidelity Investments bank failed. The sign in failed due to "time out or connection error." "Select Sign In to authenticate via your web browser." Each attempt gives the same failed results.

I have tried with multiple browsers. I have tried with my VPN on and off. I have selected all accounts and I have tried by selecting the accounts individually. I have a PC (not Mac). My OS and programs are all up to date.

At this point, Quicken is worthless with regards to Fidelity accounts. [Removed - No Soliciting] Or, has anyone kept Quicken, but stopped trying to track with Fidelity.

Today my zzz-Fidelity DC stopped working, got an email from Quicken at least, that's good for those not following this thread. I'm still on version 62.16 because the updates have caused me so much pain & I never update until I have a solid need. This discussion is 17 pages long w/lots of chatter, is there a newer or more focused thread to follow?

I got the email from Quicken saying Fidelity had cut us off too, and the Fidelity accounts were not updated by OSU. So since I am NOT turning on the new download until more problems with it are fixed, I guess I'm going to do manual entries for Fidelity.

I've told my financial advisor's team at Fidelity that they've got way too many problems with their downloads.

Tried the conversion today, for the 401k it wasn't able to recognize/match existing funds and treated downloaded ReinvDiv on 9/30 as new funds, so now there is a mismatch between Shares Reported/Shares in Quicken. In the Security list, the fund in question appears twice with same symbol and different CUSIP ID. How to fix? Add/remove shares to make it match the institution?

es114 Quicken Windows Subscription Member ✭✭

Finding most security mis-matches are due to duplicate entries. This will take hours. Totally unnecessary if this migration was done properly.

Hopefully one of you can get this EWC+ Fidelity Download error to the proper development team.

All of my International Stocks are being downloaded as Deposit with no Category assigned. My US Stocks are correctly being downloaded/posted as DIV and assigned to _DivInc category.

This is a real problem and requires a manual intervention each day or my Dividends total for tracking and tax reporting are incorrect.

I only have mutual funds and ETF's. They are all US. However, dividends are only being treated correctly for Fidelity's securities and not for ETF's and non-Fidelity mutual funds. The issue seems to be only for the non-IRA accounts.

I made the transition to EWC+ because it seems Fidelity stopped Direct Connect.

Everything for the regular brokerage accounts worked well but not the netbenefits accounts (401k, deferred comp and brokerage link). Our netbenefits "brokerage link" account didn't handle the core sweep transactions properly.

For the regular brokerage accounts, I signed into Fidelity to reauthorize account access, agreed with their long [Removed - Language] waiver of liability (see south park human centipede episode), was presented with the list of my accounts and checked the ones I wanted to allow quicken to access. At that point I was taken back to Quicken where the linked account screen came up, and I reviewed/modified the links as needed. Then the following pop-ups appeared:

    Screenshot (91).png

I wanted SPAXX it to be treated as cash so left that selection and clicked next.

    Next came:

    Screenshot (92).png

I was a little concerned at first but realized I shouldn't have any SPAXX buy or sell transactions but if there were any, this would be a good thing. I clicked yes.

After the download completed, there were several duplicate transactions going back a few weeks. Probably because of some overlap in the transition from DC to EWC+. No big deal. It was easy enough to delete them for this one-time transition.

The netbenefits transition process never offered the cash representation option and the brokerage link account downloaded a buy transaction for FIDELITY CASH RESERVES (FDRXX) for the same amount as the dividend. Hopefully they will get this to work the same way it does for SPAXX and the way we chose to have it work for FDRXX in the past under DC.

Same as everyone else I guess. These Fidelity issues are not close to fixed and it's infuriating that they are pretending the issues are largely fixed. Why are we paying for a product/service that doesn't work? How will they compensate for a horrible experience since JULY.

Since the beginning of this Fidelity transition to EWC+, I have stayed with the DC connection….until yesterday, when I finally took the plunge (even though I was not forced to) and accepted the switchover during my daily OSU. I have just one Fidelity account, and that is a brokerage account with only about 2 years of transaction history.

It went well, although not quite perfectly. There were 2 issues. and each was simple to fix. One was that the 2 most recent transactions were duplicated. For that I manually deleted the duplicates. The other was that the share prices for most of my 6 brokerage CDs were slightly off. So I needed to correct those prices by editing the price history for each affected CD. After that, everything matched the online account, including the cash balance and the overall account balance.

Just having the 1 account with a relatively short transaction history surely helped, but I wanted to post this as a data point for others in similar situations who are also considering making the switch. Surely, it has not been pretty for many users.
