Paycheck Transactions Show Incorrect Value in Registry and Reminders after Sync

I am using the latest version of Quicken Classic Deluxe R65.17 Build 27.1.65.17 on Windows 11 Enterprise.

I set up my paycheck using the paycheck feature and split out all the items on my paycheck. As part of the split, I have a $200 “transfer” being put into another account tracked in Quicken. After entering everything, all looks good in both registers and bills. However, as soon as I hit "Update Accounts List":

  • Bill and Income Reminders view shows as $85.07 when it should be significantly more. Clicking on “Edit this and all future” the line items are correct and so is the total.
  • My registry (set up to show future transactions 90-days in advance), future paychecks show as $285.07 Payment vs a Deposit.
  • My other registry (also set up to show 90-days in advance) that receives the $200 and shows the $200 correctly.
  • When I hover over the future paycheck to see the split, it only shows the $200 transfer to the other account and only some of my “After-Tax Deductions” specifically for the ones in Category “Financial:Life Insurance” which total $85.07 thus the reported $285.07 in my registry.

I noticed this a few months ago but it wasn’t consistently an issue. I thought my 10-years of registry data might have been corrupt so I created a new registry, downloaded all my old transactions for the last year direct from the banks, and reentered all my scheduled transactions and got the same result.

I created a new TEST Paycheck with a $1000 income and 1 line for $100 Life Insurance in the after-tax deductions section. After saving it appeared correct in Bills and Register ($900 Deposit). After I hit the "Update Accounts List" the Register and Bills showed it as a $100 Payment. I repeated this experiment and got the same result entering life insurance in all sections of the paycheck.

I repeated this experiment again with different categories and (without exhaustive testing to ID a pattern) got mixed results. Some (Quick Original) categories seem to cause the issue, and several others (various tax and health) did not.

While playing with creating this TEST Paycheck I noticed my regular paycheck went to $0.00 in the Bill and Income Reminders but the register still showed $285.07.

I’ve used this feature for over 35-years with no issue. But over the last few months, this fundamental failure in the reliability of simple calculations in Quicken has caused multiple panic situations in my household. Finally having free time, I spent the last 4-hours discovering this bug and hopefully giving enough info for Quicken to fix this software bug.
