UPDATED 3/20/26 HTTP 400 Error BANK OF AMERICA
We are currently seeing reports of an HTTP 400 error occurring when attempting to connect or reauthorize Bank of America accounts in Quicken for both Mac and Windows.
This error typically occurs during the authorization step and is most commonly related to the system’s default web browser. Quicken uses your computer’s default browser to complete the Bank of America authorization process, and the error can occur if there is a browser-related issue.
To resolve this, please follow the steps below:
1. Close Quicken completely.
2. Change your system’s default web browser.
For Windows:
- Go to Settings
- Select Apps
- Click Default Apps
- Choose a different browser (Chrome or Microsoft Edge are recommended)
- Set it as the default browser
For Mac:
- Go to System Settings (or System Preferences)
- Select Desktop & Dock (or General, depending on macOS version)
- Change the Default Web Browser to a different browser (Safari or Chrome are recommended)
3. Reopen Quicken and attempt to connect or reauthorize your Bank of America account again.
If the issue persists after changing the default browser and retrying the connection, please contact Quicken Support for further assistance.
This is a known issue that we are working to resolve as quickly as possible. We currently have no ETA to provide on when a resolution can be expected, but we will post updates as soon as we do.
