If you are using Windows 10, you select to print the report and when prompted for the printer, select Microsoft print to PDF. Quicken also installs a PDF printer and should display in the drop down.

I have  Corel PDF Creator. Prior to converting to Quicken version 2013 I was able to save my reports to Corel and to navigate to where I wanted to save. This version does not save any where. It will allow me to print from my HP printer, but not save.  Any ideas? Thanks.

@GeoffG is correct.  The way we save a report to pdf file is by choosing an appropriate printer from the Print window.  If the Quicken PDF Printer is not available or isn't working in Quicken 2013, I suggest you download and install PrimoPDF: https://www.primopdf.com

Just to clarify - you PRINT to a PDF virtual printer -
you don't save as a PDF format

I use Adobe Acrobat and I print many reports to a pdf file that I then save.

You pay for Adobe Acrobat. Not everyone wants to pay for it.

@Iris Young  Are you running QWin? Or, QMac?
"Version 8.1" looks more like a QMac version number ... but you labeled this thread as being QWin.
Please verify what version you're running by doing HELP, About Quicken (or, Quicken, About Quicken in QMac).

The free Acrobat reader will not create pdfs, but any of the other solutions mentioned above will.

When did the Quicken PDF printer feature get included with the Quicken software -
    Which version of Quicken -
If the OP says she is running - Windows 8.1 - and Quicken 2013 -
and therefore, PDF Printer is not in QW2013, and Windows 8.1 doesn't have it,
then I would go for any of the simple PDF virtual printer addons -
    --> http://www.cutepdf.com/

I have lots of Adobe files prior to getting Q2013. I can open those files in Adobe pdf, but now when I try to use Quicken PDF printer on LPT1 it saves to my file but when I try to open them  it says "Quicken launcher is not working." Anyone know how to solve this?? Thanks everyone

I've always had problems with Q's PDF printer ...  which is why I use CutePDF.

Just to repeat what has already been posted....
    - You could click on the "envelope icon" at the top menu of a report to auto-create the PDF and invoke your email program to email the PDF report - as you requested.
    - You could click on the "printer icon" at the top menu of a report to bring up the Printer screen as shown - and select the Quicken Printer - or any other "PDF virtual printer" to create the PDF file
    - The Quicken PDF Printer will only actually create PDF files from Quicken -
SO - your actions should have created a PDF file..... XyZ.PDF -
What happens when you just click on that file ?
How is that different than clicking on any other PDF file you have  ?

Since this discussion appears to be about Quicken for Windows 2013 ...
    1) Please make sure you have all available bug fixes installed
    Old Quicken Patch downloads 2000+

When running an old, unsupported Quicken version you may no longer be able to download bug fixes (patch files) directly from Quicken.
However, they are still available here:
    US version: http://www.quicknperlwiz.com/quickenpatches.html
    Canadian version: http://www.quicknperlwiz.com/quickenpatchescanadian.html
If clicking on Help / About Quicken does not show the highest Release number available for your version (year), as shown on this webpage, download and install the appropriate file(s) from the link above.

    2) This is not for the faint of heart ... but it may get your Quicken PDF printer working again.
Make sure you are using the correct port name and the latest available Amyuni driver version (even if its number differs from the documentation)
    3) If all else fails, do follow the advice given by others to use one of the many other available PDF file creation tools.

BTW - I noticed this when trying out the various PDF printers....
The file sizes created are way different
Here are the 3 that I have used - all same report.
    One outside vendor - PDF995 - created 16k
The Quicken PDF Printer - created 9k
The Windows 10 - Microsoft Print to PDF - created 188k

Have you looked inside each of these PDF files, to see what code was generated by the PDF driver program? For example, the small files may contain a "line printer - like" text-only representation of the report, while the big file contains a binary graphics image of the whole report page, or a lot of extraneous stuff.
If you feel like discussing PDF files and contents, I think, this should be moved to a separate discussion, perhaps even in a PDF - specific community.
