Is there a way to make Quicken open faster?

Options
Just converted from Quicken 2007 for Mac. 2007 opened fast even on slow machines and I have data going back to 1997. The new version takes a long time to load. Is there a way to speed that up? Will removing unnecessary categories help? If I remove files from before 2010, will that speed the process up? If that does help, how would I remove all these transactions?

Do you have Q set to update your security Quotes upon opening?  That can add to the time.
The number of categories has no impact upon opening time.
What do you mean by 'remove files from before 2010"?  Q only opens a single Q data file at a time.  Perhaps, do you mean "accounts from before 2010"?
Lastly, have you taken a look into validating your file?
    • First, take a backup, just in case.
    • Then, FILE, File Operations, Validate and Repair.  BE SURE that "Validate File" and "Rebuild Investing Lots" (if present) are checked before you
    • Click OK.

What I mean by removing before say 2010 is this, I duplicate my data file, rename one as Kleeberg pre 2010 and then, other file remove all the transactions before 2010. Is there a way to do that?

I also plan to have an historic copy of my data in Mac Q2007 through December 2019 and will keep it on a pre Mojave computer.

Discovered the issue. It opens slowly if the last window open was budgets or Home. If it is an account, it opens quickly. I am good with it as it.
