Reports and Graphs Custom Dates not working

edited February 6 in Reports (Windows)

I am trying to create a new report with a custom date range from 11/1/2023 to 1/31/2024. Every time I go back to the report the Custom dates range has changed to 1/1/2023 to 12/5/2023.

The Custom Dates feature used to work just fine and I just noticed it not working today, 12/5/2023. In fact all of my previous reports that had a Custom Date range, have been changed to be essentially a year to date.

I am using the Deluxe subscription version R53.16, Build 27.1.53.16

This sounds like the same issue discussed here

If so, please comment there. If not, please explain how your problem is different.

I think it is different because when I access from Saved Reports, it still prompts for dates instead of opening with saved custom dates - this is a new glitch since I updated to version R53.26 Build 27.1.53.26. I'm running Classic Premier on Windows 10

I'm having the same issue. All of my Custom Dates reports are now Current Year January 1 2023 - December 31 2023. I change the dates back to what they are supposed to be, save the report and close it. When I reopen it the dates have not been saved. Still the current year. Doesn't matter if I select the reports from the Reports and Graph Center icon or use the Reports > My Saved Reports & Graphs path. This just started happening after the last update which was supposed to correct the One Drive issue but didn't correct that either. I'm on build R53.26 Build 27.1.53.26 on Windows 10.

    Hello @Bonnie217,

Could you please provide more detail what path you use to access your saved reports? Do you have the Early Access features turned on? (You can check that by going to Edit>Preferences>Early Access). Are you able to provide a screenshot of what you're seeing (with any personal information redacted)? If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.

Have you tried updating to the newest release to see if the issue persists there? If you're not getting the prompt in your Quicken program, you can backup your file and use this link to get the newest patch.

    Hello @cgruchy,

Since R53.26 is the most current version for the Canadian version of Quicken for Windows, let's try some troubleshooting. If you haven't done so already, try restarting your computer. If the issue persists after the restart, I suggest that you try validating and/or super validating your data file.  Please save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    Validate:

    1. File
    2. Validate and Repair File...
    3. Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.

    Super Validate:

    1. File
    2. Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
    3. Super Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists

Let me know how it goes!

  • I have the same issue. This was not happening a couple of weeks ago. I am using R53.32, Build 27.1.53.32 on a Windows 10 machine. I have run Validate and Super Validate as shown above, but the problem remains. When accessing reports using the Reports and Graphs Center icon, any saved report set to use custom dates shows up with the dates 1/1/2023 through the current date. I created a new report from scratch and got the same result. I created a report using Last Year for the date. When I open this report, it shows the correct date range of 1/1/2022 to 12/31/2022. When I access a report using the Reports > My Saved Reports & Graphs path, the dates for the reports are correct. I hope this helps diagnose the problem.

    Hello @Kosh55,

Based on what you're describing, it sounds like you're encountering the issue described in the thread linked earlier in this discussion:

That issue has already been reported. If you'd like to contribute to the investigation, please go to Help>Report a Problem, send logs, and reference CTP-8308.

    Thank you!

If I turn off Early access the report dates are correct, so obviously the problem is with the new reports interface

    Hi Kristina,

I clicked on the button to revert back to the old Reports based on a comment from another user and all of my reports are working fine now. I don't know how to get back to the new Reports manager, but since things are OK, I don't want to risk it again.

    Thanks,

    Colin

    Hello @cgruchy,

I'm glad to hear reverting to the old reports interface worked for you. If you do choose to switch to the new interface in the future, the way to do that is going to Edit>Preferences>Early Access and selecting the appropriate checkbox.

    Thank you!
