Problem just popped up this morning. Capital One Bank - New is asking you to reauthorize. Select 'Reauthorize' and follow the prompts to restore Quicken account access. (FDP-350). Tried to create new and still have the same error.

    Hello @lablover57,

To troubleshoot this issue, if selecting "Reauthorize" does not work, please backup your Quicken file, then deactivate all of the Capital One accounts in your Quicken file. You can use Accounts>Hide and Show Accounts to verify that you have all Capital One accounts, including any hidden ones, deactivated (if Quicken thinks an account is connected, it will show a financial institution name in the financial institution column of that window). Once you have all Capital One accounts in that file disconnected, then please go to Accounts>Add Account and follow the prompts, making sure to carefully re-link your accounts.

Please let me know how it goes!

I just tried to re-authorize. I had to do it like 5 times. Finally, was able to download transactions. Going to think long and hard about renewing subscription at the end of the year.

Thank you for the follow up,

I'm glad to hear you were finally able to download transactions.

What was going wrong when you were trying to re-authorize? Were you getting any error messages/error codes? Was there anything you did differently the last time that got it to finally connect?

I look forward to your response!

it was the same code over and over again. I was able to re-authorize the 5th time.

Cap One usually prompts me to reauthorize every 1-2 months. It must be something their security system requires. Some other EWC+ Financial Institutions do the same thing but the time intervals vary.

This morning I got the Cap One reauthorization prompt. Logging into my online Cap One account and reauthorizing there was uneventful but when that was completed and I was back in Quicken the process hung for almost 4 minutes before it completed. So, it does appear something was amiss today.

Downloading from Cap One today was normal with no issues encountered. Since I had no similar issues yesterday or today with any other financial institutions it makes me think the reauthorization issue I had yesterday was likely something caused by Cap One, not by Quicken. I might be mistaken about that but that is my perception of this instance.

Of course, the cause of the issue experienced by @lablover57 yesterday might have been different, especially if the issue has occurred, again, today. But if downloading is working correctly, today, I suspect that yesterday's issue was perhaps caused by the same thing that I experienced yesterday.

    Thank you for your replies,

It may have been a temporary issue on Capital One's side, if everything is now staying connected and working.

Please feel free to reach back out if the issue returns!
