Fantasy Olympics…
Like Fantasy football but not really. 🙃
Welcome to our August Icebreaker! Did you watch the Olympics? If not, I’m sure you’ve at least heard or seen things on social media or other platforms.
For this month’s Icebreaker, we’d like to ask you— if ANYTHING was possible in the Olympics, what event would you win?
Me— I think I’d have a pretty good shot at winning a medal for untangling things (wires, ropes, etc).
What about you? Do tell! 🙂

I've been told that I'm the queen of Dad jokes, so I'd have a good shot at the gold in a Dad joke or pun contest.

I think that I could at least make the top 3 for anything dark and creepy. I live my life like it is Halloween year-round, so if they got a category for that then I should for sure be a shoo-in. Another one would be not answering my phone, I am awful when people try to call me. Sometimes, it is on purpose, but most of the time it is not LOL.

Hey, I think I could be pretty good at that one too! I might give you a run for your money there 🤣

I'd win at jumping - in the shower that is!
Olympics is the only time I watch sports and as much as I can in that period every two years. Specially the ones we are less exposed to. My favorite summer one has been slalom canoeing.

Tossing TV sets off Clingman's Dome Observation Deck, cause I don't like them 😡🤣

Tossing pianos off a dorm roof was a tradition at MIT when I was there in the 1970s.

Wow, that's a great idea also! The 'crashing crescendo' when piano hits concrete would be worth price of admission 🤣 I cut the cord on boob tube few years back. Mostly just junk broadcast today, in my humble opinion. Get outside, enjoy nature. Or fire up laptop and study historical events about real people doing real things.

The Olympics aren't "real people doing real things"???

Sure, Olympics are great entertainment. Very proud of those young ladies and men; they work hard for metals and glory. It's the context of life. Or what one considers important to them. I think occasionally about one relative KIA on USS Lexington, Battle of Coral Sea, WWII. He went down with the ship. Another WWII relative, KIA on island in Pacific. Don't know much about him, not certain where he's buried, if at all 🤔 Another KIA 1918 in WWI. Eventually found grave in Europe and remains shipped home for burial in Arkansas. They were just out doing a job. No TV cameras required.

My greatest and most frequent fantasy would be seeing far fewer reports of problems and failures for users of Quicken software. 'Nuf said.
