Why did my post get deleted?

Hi, I create a post a couple of hours ago that documents how to improve performance of Quicken Classic on Windows 11. It looks like the post has been deleted. I think the information I provided will be helpful to the community — is there a way I can find out why my posted was removed?

    To answer your question: as long as the product you’re sharing isn’t a competitor to Quicken (essentially another personal finance software), it’s fine to mention it without the post being removed. Since the utility you described is just for setting CPU affinity and improving system performance, it should be okay to share here.

    Perhaps were you recommending/endorsing a third-party product? That's a no-no on this forum.

    BUT, usually, just the contents get deleted … not the entire post and I couldn't find a post from you dated earlier today. And, usually, the mods (the only one's who can delete posts) would send you a explanatory message.

    SO, you might try messaging one of the Mods to see if you can find out what happened.

    Also, the obvious question is: Are you sure you saved it? I've made that mistake before.

    It could have been taken as an advertisement for the program that you mentioned.

    First, a "Mea culpa". I want to acknowledge that my original post probably looked like it was intended to promote a 3rd party product. It wasn't intentional, and I didn't even realize it until I read the feedback in this thread, but I was so excited to have found a solution to this long-standing problem that I didn't think long enough about how my post would come across.

    The problem is that Windows does not provide a simple way to set CPU affinity. It requires researching to find out the CPU number of the performance cores on one's processor, creating a hexadecimal mask that represents which CPUs you want the process tied to and then creating a shortcut with an appropriate "start" command.

    There is a 3rd party product that simplifies all of this. They have free and paid versions. Their pricing is modest, and they are well-respected in IT shops for providing utilities of this nature.

    Is there a way I can share the name without the thread being removed?

    Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
