Ok let me note for you that I can also call it a zero balance issue for FIDELITY MMKT PREMIUM CLASS (FZDXX). As I look at this more closely now, I think if the shares were there, then they would not show in the online balance and I would be able to reconcile. So maybe it's the similar issue. I did try redoing the connection and that did not help it. I will look at prior note and consider submitting .

@Quicken Kristina further update. I think that was a reconciliation transaction which I deleted. The shares are there, they are in the online balance but should not be. I submitted the report and logs.

some fidelity income transactions are stil not being categorized as dividend income transactions and instead come down as payment transactions. this has negative effect on the tax planning reports. two securities this happened to me were nmco and nmz.

If this isn't fixed by the end of Sept, I will be moving my accounts. Shame on Fidelity for not thoroughly insisting on testing this with Quicken. And Quicken should have properly advised of the issues other had with this changeover. Of course my Fidelity reps are quick to blame Quicken. Both large, capable entities, need to get this fixed IMO.

9/5 VTEB dividends were paid and again they were not categorized correctly as a dividend. also, bad is that there is an income transaction and a reinvestment transaction. this did not happen with fidelity direct connect. i could live with the two transactions but having to manually correct the dividend transaction each month is prone to error and i expect my paid subscription for quicken to do this correctly.

@Brad L Vandermoon yep I am getting this too, and the online balance not being reported as the same as from the statement section: Settlement Account > Total Core Fund Activity.

@Quicken Kristina anything to report. Seems like Fidelity is taking its time helping out here. Any in sights would be appreciated.

online balances are TRAILING transactions by one day. doesn't sound like large deal but fidelity accounts won't reconcile and incorrect placeholder transactions are being added to accounts.

My online balances still include security values. I am giving Fidelity about 3 more weeks before I move my account.

looks like i now have the issue where cash online balance does not include money markets. as a result, place holder transactions are adding doubling the cash. no fidelity accounts now balance. any eta on this as i am about to give [Removed - 3rd Party Software] a try. Literally, it is now more difficult to manage my money with Quicken that it would be to do without.

Thank you for the update @Brad L Vandermoon,

Based on a recent Community Alert (linked below), you should be able to resolve the issue with your cash balance by following these instructions:

    • The Money Market security will disappear automatically and be set to cash. Customers whose cash balance is incorrect should perform a reconciliation with the online balance and enter an adjustment to correct the cash balance. From that point on, you will be good to go.

    Thank you!

My Fidelity accounts all show an on-line balance of zero, the system continues to download all transactions correctly, I am not able to reconcile the Fidelity accounts because of this.

    Thanks

@stevefir Instead of trying to reconcile to an online balance, which is erroneously zero, why not reconcile to a statement balance? Even if it isn’t the end-of-month physical statement, you can look up your balance on the Fidelity site and then enter that as the statement balance in Quicken.

my fidelity accounts will still not balance cash values. some accounts want to make the core position a reinvested dividend into the money market. other accounts will correctly make the core position as cash. all accounts show an online balance of 0. this makes all accounts impossible to balance. does anyone have a current list of issues being worked for the fidelity accounts?

i am also still getting payment transactions for nmz and nmco when they should be dividend transactions. it is a lot of work to use quicken and fidelity these days.

Sorry I was away. So one account is fine. The other is not. I don't understand the referenced instructions for Mac users. If I add and account adjustment then it zero's out the register yet there is 3.49 in cash in the account. The online balance says zero and Quicken says zero with the adjustment but that is wrong by the 3.49.

Below is what Fidelity shows, so when Quicken shows an online balance of zero; that doesn't make sense and reconciling with an adjustment doesn't make this go away as the zero balance is just wrong. So I manually entered a 9/30 transaction which didn't download and reconciled to that statement. Let's see what happens after that with the online balance, although I did buy a mutual fund for 3.49 so an online balance of zero will be correct going forward after today.

Thank you for your reply @Carefree,

If you're referring to the alert I posted on the 26th of September, that was directed to a different person in this discussion. The instructions in that alert would not help with the issue that you are encountering.

Are you still encountering the issue with market value reflecting in the online balance when reconciling Fidelity accounts? If you are, our teams request that you send fresh logs so that they can further investigate. To do that, please navigate to Help>Report a Problem and send a problem report with logs attached.

If the issue is no longer happening, please let me know so I can notify our teams that it's no longer happening.

    Thank you!

When I say account is fine - I mean I expect the online balance to match my account. No they no longer include the securities, but only one of two accounts had balances that matched online. I described in the prior post my resolution of the one that didn't match.

Unfortunately my fix didn't work as the new purchase transactions which is reflected online as of 10/13 has not downloaded as of 10/15 at 11:34 am PHX time. I tried to update my connection but nothing is there.

    The purchase was for FZDXX.

Fidelity has three "core" money markets (SPAXX, FZFXX, and FDRXX) that are reported as cash at Fidelity.

The accounts where I have SPAXX as the core position are reporting the cash correct and I can balance to the online balance.

The accounts where I have FZFXX or FDRXX as the core position incorrectly show an online balance of 0.

@Quicken Kristina or @Quicken Anja do you guys ever see quicken or fidelity fixing FZFXX and FDRXX to show as cash to match the fidelity website?

  • tleccese
    tleccese Quicken Windows Subscription Member

I see the same behavior regarding SPAXX and FDRXX as reported by Brad Vandermoon on 10/24.
    i.e.

    • accounts with SPAXX core position display online balance in reconcile window as expected
    • accounts with FDRXX core position display online balance in reconcile window unexpectedly as $0.00
    • I have no fidelity accounts for FZFXX so cannot confirm

Halloween Spookies - my account that was working last month isn't any longer. Fidelity made a transfer out last night per my normal set up but the cash is still in my balance this morning. Logged into Fidelity and what they have matches my account so the online balance is just wrong.

This morning's daily transaction download removed SPAXX as the core account and the Online Center shows only 2 of the 6 Fidelity accounts even though transactions downloaded for all the accounts. What a really buggy interface with EWC+.

11/4: my NMZ and NMCO reinvested dividends are still not categorized correctly as a dividend. they instead come in as a payment transaction and a corresponding buy transaction for the security. since the paid dividend comes in as a payment transaction instead of "dividend income tax-free", the money associated with the transaction is not correctly categorized in tax reports. @Quicken Kristina, @Quicken Anja any progress update on this?
