Is 64.25 update recommended or required?
I'm running 63.21 on Win 10 Enterprise and have experienced none of the problems 64.25 seems to address; however, I do try to stay on the latest version. I've read a lot of traffic about 64.25 and am wondering if it remains a recommended update "in general". Can a summary of update results be posted with population numbers of successful operating updates vs. unsuccessful with rollbacks?

Hello @JimC52,
Thanks for your question! While updating to the latest release (R64.25) is something we always strongly recommend to ensure you have the most recent fixes, enhancements, and security updates, whether you update is ultimately your choice.
Regarding the summary of update results and population numbers, Quicken doesn’t share detailed statistics on update outcomes, so we don’t have population-level numbers on successful versus unsuccessful updates.
Thanks for your understanding!

@JimC52 Also keep in mind that posts regarding program updates are MUCH more likely to be complaints rather than compliments, regardless of the experiences of the total user population.
If the update to R64.25 went smoothly, as did mine, most users won't bother to comment on it. So, the problems get disproportionately reported.
Also note that many issues are feature-specific. I don't use the Online Biller feature, or QWeb, or QMobile. So any issues involving them don't impact me.
But, I'll also note that I'm not an "early adopter" of updates. I wait a week or more after a new release to see the online feedback.

@JimC52 , You are asking the right questions and updating depends on your needs. If the release notes indicate a fix or a new feature that is important to you, then maybe you should consider it recommended. For example the R64 include the updated tax data which some users find it important.
I personally do not find any release to be required. I am on April's R62.12 and it works flawless. I update about couple of times per year after reading the community posts to find the one release that seems to be the most quiet - and none of the R64's so far fall in that category.

@JimC52 If you use Premier's Portfolio X-Ray feature, you will find that with R64.XX, the "improved" presentation has several issues, including less information than previous versions. See these discussions
But if you have Fidelity investment accounts, some of the fixes for problems with the new connection method may depend on having the latest Quicken update.
