How do I get closed accounts from showing up in the category section when posting payments or accounts?

While you can hide closed categories in the Category List, there's no apparent way to hide closed accounts.

I'll suggest to the mods that they convert this to an Idea so that other users can vote on it. That's how changes to the program get suggested. It typically takes at least 50 votes to get the developer's attention.

This has been discussed and ignored for years if not decades. When I went looking for an idea on this one link took me to a URL for the last forum Quicken Inc used for this information. This is that old.

The problem stems from the dual nature of accounts, as in they are treated sort of as categories in some places.

One goes to this dialog and sees the two Hide options and figure that would do it (note that closing an account forces the "Hide in Transaction Entry Lists" to be selected).

But what that is referring to is the "account lists". But the "account" appears in "category lists" as transfers.

And it appears in the Category list and even has a "Hide" selection, but it is disabled.

I personally consider this a bug.

If they are going to treat transfers as a "category" then it should be possible to "hide the transfer in the category lists".

You could try adding ZZZ to the front of the account name so it might sort to the end of the list.

It's a bug, not an idea. But, Hey, whatever gets it fixed is great.
