    Merrill Benefits Online recently stopped supporting QFX download because they (including BoA) implemented WebConnect+ connection for Quicken. There were no notification like other financial institutes that made the cutover. I found out by unable to upload QFX.

    I was able to connect my 401K account to Quicken. It wasn't obvious because I forgot I created an account when my company switched over to Merrill and implemented SSO with my company ID, but I was able to figure out my credential in Merrill Benefits.

    The Merrill WebConnect+ is not useful. Merrill only implemented the "Simple View" meaning you can only see the positions and value of your holdings. It doesn't track all the transactions like all other financial institutes that I do business with that supports Quicken WebConnect+ integration. All other FIs I use support "Complete View".

    If you want to track transactions like you used to with QFX import, you will have to manually enter the transactions. Merrill does not support Quicken CSV format so you will literally have to copy-and-paste from their site.

    C'mon Merrill, do better! Some smaller and local FIs I used with less of a name can support Complete View!

    Shouldn't this be directed at Merrill Lynch not Quicken Inc? Quicken Inc can't tell Merrill Lynch what to do.

    I had successfully reconnected to ml.benefits a week or so ago and like others that resulted in only the "simple" view without transactions. But now, even that has been lost as, once again, the connection isn't working and even using ML's "download activity" option results in an error message. Even though I don't like the Simple view it would at least be better than nothing to be able to track my balance — does anyone know why even this limited functionality only lasted for a week?

    Do you get an error messages for the Express Web Connect +/One Steup Update?

    Since I was able to connect mine, it has been working except for one day where it was throwing an error. The next day it was working again.

    Yes, when I try to update the account via OSU, after a very long delay I get the CC-501 error message. And, when I attempt to download recent activity directly from the ML.Benefits site, the error message says "Quicken is unable to verify the financial institution information for this download". But I definitely re-established the connection with ml.benefits and my account details show that as the institution and not any longer ML investments as it had previously.

    Well downloading the Web Connect/QFX file will definitely not work anymore. I know that Merrill Lynch has been lazy and not removed the option from their website, but they have directed Intuit to block it (Quicken Inc pays Intuit for connection services).

    As for the CC-501 error I did get that once for about a day, but haven’t got it since.

    I suggest that you try Reset Account on the Account Details → Online Services tab.

    If that doesn’t fix it then I suggest that you contact Quicken support to help you to resolve this problem.

    I have been manually updating since October. Has anyone heard from Quicken if they have fixed all the issues with our 401k downloads so they work again? I have not had a chance to test if the november releases fixed anything. Just curious if anyone has had luck or if we are still manually fixing it. Thank you to @essjay for the fix in the manual file download. Works perfect just hoping quicken will actually make things work again.

    This is the response I received from Merrill Lynch support based on a question about the downloading of activity to Quicken.

    "Due to changes on how Quicken and Benefits On Line website interact, you will need to connect via Intuit and utilize the Enterprise Open Banking secure API data aggregator capabilities. Any further issues need to be directed toward Quicken support."

    Not sure of the process to connect via the API.
